Rottweiler Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Meet Michael Phelps! This little guy should win the Olympic gold medal for the cutest pup in the whole wide world :) Michael has the cutest little personality that will just melt your heart! He is soooo loving & will follow you everywhere you go. He loves to play, play, play all day if you let him. He is SO smart & learned the doggie door within a day & how to sit for treats. He was found as a stray & brought to Tuba City Humane before he was transferred to us in Phoenix. He is now on the hunt for a real FUREVER :) He is about 3.5 months old. We anticipate he will be about 50-60 lbs when grown. He HATES his crate but we recommend his ... (Read More)adopter continues with crate training. Just remember Michael is a puppy! Rottweiler    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Frankie is only a year old and over a 100 pounds. His beauty is jaw dropping and he has a great fun happy personality. He has had some training and he does listen and tries to please. He is a goofy boy who loves attention and to be played with. I'm told he was raised in a house with cats, kids and dogs. That he did well with the cats and the kids, but fought pretty badly with a lab and a minpin. Both dogs were injured enough to go to the emergency room. However, in observing Frankie interact with the dogs in his foster home through the bars of a kennel, he seems to shy away from conflict and does not fence fight even though the other dog is ... (Read More)engaging a fence fight, so it is believable that with the right owner and supervision he may be able to live with another dog in harmony. He is crate trained and potty trained. He is food motivated and loves ice cubes. He doesn't just have the looks but he has the brains too. Some lucky family will be very happy to make him theirs!! He won't last long I'm sure. please go to http://www.rottenrottie.com/adoption.html and fill out the adoption questionnaire and return it to us. Rescue Me ID: 16-08-13-00142Klein (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered

Klein is a great dog! He is good with cats, other dogs and kids. Klein in one of the very few dogs who was actually able to pass the temperament test by county and become adoptable. County fails Rotties all the time if their body stiffens when they are uncomfortable or if he pulls back his paw when county pinches it. But Klein is so laid back that he didn't care about that. So they made him adoptable and then a couple of days later he was put on the euthanasia list because he came down with a cold. Klein was starved in his previous life. He is about 20 pounds under weight. Once he is back up to his ideal weight, he is gonna be one big boy! ... (Read More)He won't last long I'm sure! He is very friendly and a super cuddle bug. Rottweiler    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Bandit is ready for his new forever home! After a rough start to his only 9 month old life, being tagged bad and set to be killed, he has emerged as one hell of a pup. A Rottie, Shepherd mix, he is very smart, loving and loyal. He loves to walk, run, play tug-a-war and cuddle. He is a bandit. If it's hanging out of your pocket or on the counter he will snatch it (still working on the counter surfacing no no). Lives with 4 other rotties, Aussie, and corgi. He loves them more than they love a 9 month old puppy. House trained (uses dog door or signals when he has to go), crate trained, walks and runs great on lead, sits and goes to down ... Rottweiler    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Draco is one handsome boy. He looks like a purebred Rottie but he is smaller than most. If you always wanted a Rottie but didn't think you had the room for one, well Draco may be the perfect solution! He weighs in at about 65 pounds. He is young, we are guessing between 1 and 2 years old so he will continue to grow a bit more. Draco currently lives with 9 other dogs, ranging in size from tiny to over 100 pounds he gets a long with everyone and everyone has welcomed him into their pack. So if you are hoping for a very sociable dog, then Draco is it. He's the bomb. He does just as well with people and kids. We have seen zero aggression from ... Rescue Me ID: 16-07-29-00602Winston (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Winston is a young male Rottie about 1.5 years old. He has been living with Galen from Lorenzo's Dog Training, a professional dog trainer for the past couple of months. So his obedience skills are very good. He is good with other dogs, cats unknown. He has not been around children. He is potty trained and is not destructive. Before he was surrendered to us he had run of the house and used a doggie door to go in and out at will and did not destroy anything in the house. He takes a little while to warm up to people, but since living with Galen he warms up much quicker. If you have ever dreamed of owning a beautiful well trained rottweiler, ... Rescue Me ID: 16-07-24-00165Willow (female)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Willow was found as stray on the streets, literally starving to death, by a vet tech who took her in, addressed a skin infection that she had & contacted us to rescue her. When we received her, every bone in her body could be seen through her skin, and she had already gained 10 pounds at that point from living with the vet tech for just one week. I can't imagine her being any thinner than when we got her but she was. She has probably gained another 20 pounds since we took her in and now she is healthy and ready for adoption. Willow is good with the other dogs that she has been introduced to and lived with. She is great with her foster mom, ... (Read More)but not so great with following orders that have been given by the older children in her foster home, so I'm going to say it's best that she go to a home with no kids. Cats are unknown. She is finally potty trained, crate trained and is learning basic commands. She walks beautifully on a leash. She likes to play with the two dogs that she lives with currently. She loves to cuddle up next to her foster mom whenever she can. Rottweiler    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

I have owned elektra since she was a puppy. She is currently 5 years old. She is very good with my kids that range 7-14. However she doesnot get along with my Deaf Great Dane who trys to rough house with her but she will get aggressive in return. But she has no problems with my fox terrier (male). Rescue Me ID: 16-07-08-00581Joey (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Joey has been characterized as a young, drop-dead gorgeous purebred Rottweiler with all the charm you could possibly dream about in a single attractive canine. He is neutered, house-trained, up-to-date on his shots. When Joey first came to our rescue he was unsocialized and untrusting of humans. His entire life he had no one other than his dad. Then one day his dad went and got married and his new wife and her kids moved into the house and flipped Joey's world upside down. All of a sudden there was excitement when he was used to calm. His daily routine was different and Joey tried to school the children when they were loud and obnoxious. ... (Read More)Well his new mom was having none of that and said Joey had to go. It took Joey a couple of days to warm up to us when he got here, and he seemed a little unpredictable, so we felt it was best to send Joey to live with professional dog trainer from Lorenzo's Dog Training, named Galen. Galen has had him for three weeks now and says that his obedience is rock solid. He has made a lot of progress in his socialization skills and he warms up to people more quickly but is still not 100% trusting, so she continues working with him every day and expects that he will be one amazing dog around mid July to the end of July. Galen will offer free training classes to his new owner. Rescue Me ID: 16-07-08-00568Tundra (female)

Rottweiler    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Tundra is a very friendly loving girl who loves to hang out with her people. One day, about a month ago, she knocked on the door of a house that was located in a town outside of Prescott. This house happened to be about 3 miles from the next nearest house. She had recently had puppies as she still had milk, so we are assuming that someone used her for breeding, to make money on her, and then discarded her like a piece of trash when she was no good to them. She is getting up there in age; we are guessing between 5 - 7 years. She was filthy dirty, overweight, and was not potty-trained. When we received her, her back foot had a bloody toe that ... (Read More)was swollen and painful. We took her to the vet and she was diagnosed with a tumor on that toe and it was recommended that we amputate the toe and send it off to pathology, which we did. Pathology reports that it was a cancerous tumor but a type that rarely metastasizes, and that it's unlikely that the tumor with ever return or show up on another part of her body. Due to her toe being amputated and the extreme pain that she has had to experience there has been a time or two when she has become cranky. Because of this, we believe that she would do best in a home with no children or older children. She is a very happy friendly girl usually. We don't know her history however and if that was an isolated incident due to her pain or if she becomes cranky in other situations. Better to be safe than sorry. If you would like to meet Tundra and see for yourself how much love this dog has to give, please fill out our adoption questionnaire located under the forms tab on www.rottenrottie.com. Tundra tolerates other dogs to an extent. She has done well with some dogs and not so great with others but she has never tried to attack another dog. Her attitude towards some dogs may also be in conjunction with her pain level and wanting to protect herself. Cats are unknown. She was also just spayed, had her teeth professionally cleaned, and received her vaccinations. (Less)

If there is going to be another dog in the home, I get along best with female dogs who are calm and not alpha. ... (Read More) I am kennel trained, doggy door trained, and potty trained. Rescue Me ID: 15-12-05-00044Whitaker (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Senior

Health: Neutered

Whitaker is a senior Rottie whose owner went to jail for along time. He was dropped off at his vets office to be boarded while his relatives figured things out. They eventually surrendered him to his vet who in turn surrendered him to us. Whitaker has something called wobblers disease we believe. It affects the way he walks, but it does not require daily medication or management. So basically we are looking for a forever home for Whitaker. Some place with a warm comfortable bed to lay his head at night. Whitaker is a very sweet dog. If you are wanting a senior dog who is pretty chill and goes with the flow, then Whitaker is your for you!

Hi my name is....my name is...(what) my name is... Slim Shady! I am a rottweiler puppy and the older I get the more handsome I become. About a year ago I was found as a stray wondering the streets of Phoenix when animal control took me in to their shelter. I was very very sick. I was so sick I couldn't even see. I was only about 3 months old at the time. As soon as I came in, the shelter called the rottweiler rescue and explained that I needed to be taken out of the shelter and get medical attention ASAP. So they came and got me and took me to see Dr Carr who ran some blood work and discovered that I have diabetes :-(. It's been a long road ... (Read More)in getting me healthy, but with the patience, care and attention of the most awesome foster mom I could ever ask for, I am happy to report that have never looked, smelled, felt better in my whole life!! The hard work is done. Now my continued care consists of two injections a day with a very small needle, and I'll be a trooper for you and won't even flinch. I need drops in my eyes twice a day and I need my blood sugar monitored 2 to 3 times a day or whenever I may seem like I'm not quite right. I have to eat 3x per day at the same time every day. So I need a family where someone is usually home morning, night and lunch. My rescue cares very much for me and would never expect you to adopt me and be on your own. They will continue to be involved in my care to answer any questions or help you figure things out, should my numbers start to slide out of range. So you see, you would have a whole network of people who will stand behind you as you learn how to care for me. In return I will be the most well behaved puppy you have ever met, and I will be by your side whenever you need me. My love for my peeps run deep. So if you are an extremely responsible person, who doesn't mind having to be home at the same time every morning and night to feed and give me my insulin, and wants a handsome new best friend, please contact the rescue. You won't regret it! In June I went to see Eye Care for Animals and they determined that I was a good candidate for surgery to have my vision restore. My surgery cost $5000 but it was worth it!!! I can see everything now. I never knew the world was so pretty! I need drops in my eyes everyday, Now that Slim can see he shows aggression to some dogs especially little dogs. Since he was blind he basically has not been socialized around other dogs until now. Slim went into a foster home with a cat and a dog and he was great with the dog before and after surgery, however after his surgery he attacked their cat. We had to place him in a different foster home and have since been working with him to get him over this aggression. Slim was professionally remote collar trained by dynamic dog training. They have offered to give his new owners a lesson on the correct way on how to work with slim on remote collar ($200 value) for free. Slim's medical expenses in average is more then a normal dog. His medical expenses run about $75 a month plus vet visits and blood work will be needed in addition. He is not a good choice for someone on a tight budget. click here to see a video made for slim https://cloud.real.com/s/ZQ8xbR (Less)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Alex is probably one of the largest female Rottweilers we have had in rescue and she isn't fat at all. She is 3 years old. She is AKC registered. Alex is friendly to new people she meets, walks well on a leash, know basic commands, walks well on a leash, is house trained, and is crate trained and potty trained. Her foster dad has nothing but great things to say about her. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccination. She would do well with older kids as she seems to want to heard smaller kids. She has done well with some dogs in the past. She has attended doggie day care and was able to play nicely with the other dogs. She ... (Read More)has shown aggression towards other dogs though. A meet and greet would be needed to see how she would go with yours. (Less)
