Rescue Me ID: 18-05-18-00133Ricco (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Ricco is an all around great dog. Have had no issues with his food or toys, he has shown no human aggression, and he does fabulous with the dozen or so female dogs that I have introduced him to. I have only introduced him to a couple of males and there are two that he really doesn't like, and he neutral with the other two. If you have a larger female, he would be easy to transition into your home. He does awesome with children. Ricco was originally surrendered to the shelter in Riverside, Ca by his family because he killed a chicken. So best if you have no live chickens in your life. We rehomed him about a year ago to a single woman and her ... (Read More)young daughter and she said he is the best dog she has ever met. She also tells me that he has a natural ability to predict that her daughter was about ready to have an asthma attack. I am no expert, but I think this is the guy that you want if you need a service dog! He is potty trained, crate trained, has house manners, doesn't jump on people and gives you your personal space, but also loves to cuddle and getting belly rubs too. He walks well on a leash, as long as you take the lead on your walk. He knows basic obedience and gives paw too. Ricco won't last long I'm sure! Look how handsome he is!! Who wouldn't want an awesome dog like Ricco? It is estimated that Ricco is about 3 years old. If you would like to meet any of our dogs please fill out our adoption questionnaire located under the forms tab on rottenrottie.com we look forward to working with you soon (Less)

She wants to run , play and wrestle with her foster siblings . She's a lover and a lot of fun. Alyeska would do great with an active family that will take her on adventures and let her explore. She is 6 months old so still very puppy. Crate and potty trained. She loves her walks a little to much so we are working on teaching her not to pull.     What a beautiful girl she is, inside and out! Bronx is about 12-18 months, and weighs about 50 pounds and is full grown. Does your family love the outdoors, love to hike, or bike ride? Love to play and is active? Bronx LOVES people, any people at all. Her current foster home has young children, and she is awesome with them. She already has some basic obedience, is doggie door trained, and crate trained. She's quite the package! She is an energetic dog, but not hyper. Rescue Me ID: 18-04-20-00418Zack (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Back in December 2017 we found Zack on the euthanasia list at the county pound. He was having a very hard time standing up on his own and was doing very little walking. The shelter xrayed his hips at our request and X-rays showed that his hips were an awful mess. He had severe hip dysplasia. We rescued Zack from being killed and we immediately took him to our vet. Our vet said that the only thing that would help Zack would be surgery on both hips. There are several different hip surgeries that could be done to correct the problem and we choose to have an FHO surgery done on Zack. Zack's foster mom had a dog of her own that had FHO surgery on ... (Read More)both hips at the same time and her dog was up and walking the next day and now lives pain free, runs and jumps and plays all day. We asked Zack's vet if Zack could have the surgery done at the same time and he was hesitant but did agree. So right before Christmas, Zack had a double FHO procedure. Probably the worst decision we could have made for him, because Zack came out of surgery with no control over either one of his legs. He could not stand, he could not walk. We had to pick his back end up in a sling to get him outside to go potty. We also put up a zip line so that we could attach the sling to a wire on the zip which gave him a little bit of space and freedom to go where he wanted, along the line. Then we got him a wheelchair and started him in a physical therapy program. About 3 months post surgery, Zack finally took his first steps without assistance. He is an avid swimmer now and goes on frequent short walks to build up the atrophied muscles in his legs. He can now walk independently wherever he wants. He is still building his endurance for distance but can make it all around the house and probably 200 feet outside without resting. While Zack was with his first foster mom before his surgery, we learned that Zack is good with women, and some men, but not all. He is also good with chickens, horses, house birds and cats and most dogs. Zack is far from perfect but with the use of a swimming pool, he is well on his way to living a normal life. We would like his new forever home to have a pool so that he can continue with regular exercise throughout the summer. Check out Zack's long road to recovery in these youtube videos. This is Zack the day we brought him home from the pound. He had just met the other dogs in the video about 10 min prior to recording it. https://youtu.be/4c-QnXmWL7Y Here is a video of Zack after surgery struggling https://youtu.be/mIwlB0ODjZ0. Here is a video that was taken on March 15th hopefully it will play for you. https://www.facebook.com/rottenrottie/videos/1649229021793298/ He is even much stronger and walking straighter today. If you truly want to make a difference in a dog's life, nobody needs you more than Zack. He is potty trained, crate trained, sweet as pie and is as stubborn as the best of them! If you are interested in meeting Zack please go to http://www.rottenrottie.com/adoption.html and fill out the adoption questionnaire under the forms tab and return it to us. We will contact you once we have had a chance to look it over and let you know which dogs may be a good fit for you and your lifestyle. We think that Zack would do well with a retired single person or couple. He makes an awesome guard dog and would give his life to keep you safe. He is fearless. He's a rottweiler down to the core! Loyal, intelligent, stubborn a courageous. We look forward to working with you (Less)

Poor Mason must of had a home once. Look at those so so sad eyes. He doesn't like the shelter life much, and really needs out, the loud noises and barking scare him. Once he gets out of the kennel area, he walks well on a leash and will sit for the handler to collar him. He entered play yard a little nervous, but had good social interactions throughout time in play group. He may possibly be toy possessive. He knows sit, lay down, shake and plays with toys. He really likes to play, but probably shouldn't be adopted to families with young children. IF YOU HAVE NO BREED RESTRICTIONS and have some time to work with this cutie (it usually ... Rottweiler    Age: Puppy

Carlos is a fun loving 1.5-year-old male AKC registered rottweiler (we have his pedigree papers and we will give to his new owners.) He is great with people. He is strong, confident, trained, loves to play ball or chase a laser light, however, he does not do well with other animals. He can be near them while on a leash and not react them but he doesn't play well with others I'm told. Rescue Me ID: 18-03-23-00406Gunther (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I have a boy named Gunther. He was surrendered to us because his previous owner was walking him and they turned a corner and there where some men stand in front of them, wearing dark hoodies, and he lunged and barked at them aggressively. She was able to get him under control and move on, no harm done to anyone, but she didn't want a dog that would do that. Gunther has been trained. He walks great on a leash, he is crate trained, knows all of his obedience commands as well the 'place' command and will stay in place for a good amount of time. Gunther's downfalls are that he is obsessed with balls. He loves his ball and sometimes he does not ... (Read More)want to give it up and has been known to resource guard his ball. But if you show him another ball he will give one up for the other. He should not be allowed to play with toys with other dogs around him. It could and probably will cause a fight if another dog tried to take one of the toys that he believes he owns all of them. If your dogs don't play with toys then it may not be a problem in your home. You would just need to give him separate yard time and pick up his toys when he is done. Otherwise, if your dogs love toys too, then he would not be a good fit for you. He is also supposed to be food aggressive, though I have not seen that yet. I don't feed him with other dogs around, but as far as being food aggressive with me, he has not shown me anything. I do not put my hands in his bowl or mess with him while he is eating. I figure it's his time to eat and I let him do just that. I put him in his crate, hand him his bowl of food, shut the door, let him eat. Then when it is time, I open the crate door to let him out, allow him to come out, then I pick up his bowl and put it in the dishwasher, and that works just fine for us. He is on the small side for a Rottie. He is only about 75 pounds. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-03-09-00125Dante (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Dante is between 1 and 2 years old. He loves people. He gets along with a female rottweiler that he lives with but he plays very rough. I often have pulled him out of their romp session to settle him down so he doesn't hurt her. She will then grab a toy and engage in a game of keep away and he does much better with that and doesn't jump on her so much. She holds her own pretty well, but he would need a girl his size to play with and a little coaching. He is stubborn which is typical for the breed but once he learns something, he masters it. Like walking on a leash. It took him a couple tries but then it just clicked in his brain what I ... (Read More)wanted from him, and now he is awesome on a leash. He has a lot of energy sometimes but will calm down. He is mostly seeking attention which he is not getting enough of in his current living situation right now. If you have some time to invest in his training, you will have an amazing companion at your side for the rest of his life. I would say that he probably should go to a home with no kids just because of his energy and wanting to jump on people when he first sees them. He is not aggressive at all, just powerful. He also has this thing with tools or objects that have wheels. I have to put him in his crate before I can clean the house. That too will improve if he was getting more attention. I truly think that he acts that way as an effort to get attention, no matter if the attention is negative. He is a diamond in the rough, but I know he will polish up so pretty! If you would like to meet this young dog, please go tohttp://www.rottenrottie.com/adoption.html and fill out the adoption questionnaire under the forms tab and return it to us. Rescue Me ID: 17-04-29-00165Emily (female)

Rottweiler    Age: Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Emily is a female adult rottie whose age is unknown. We believe that she is probably about 3 years old or so. A family found her last winter running in the desert, and brought her home. She was nothing but skin and bones back then. Emaciated to the extreme. You could easily count every vertebrae. The family that found her, didn't want her in the house because she had s couple of ticks on her. This was dead of winter with temps dropping below 30 degrees at night. They had her sleeping in a crate on their patio with some blankets piled on to of it. With not an once of fat on her body she became sick with pneumonia. When we were asked to take ... (Read More)her into our rescue, they had just taken her to their vet who had diagnosed her as a diabetic. They did not want to deal with that and surrendered her to us. It's been a long road to get Emily where she is today. She is as healthy as anyone can expect a diabetic to be. Her numbers are within a good rage and she is now close to a normal weight for a healthy rottie. Her foster mom is god sent and does a fabulous job making sure that Emily gets her insulin shots twice a day . I asked her to write about how it is live with Emiy and this is what she said. Emily Gorgeous Classic Rottie - BEAUTIFUL Rottie face and build and VERY, VERY loving!! Her special needs do NOT limit her ability to enjoy life to the FULLEST . . she is not shy or limited in ANY way, shape or form. She is truly one of the BEST, EASIEST and MOST LOVING fosters I have had in my 10+ years of being involved in rescue. Again, Em not only LOVES her people, but she LOVES her toys, is SUPER-DUPER smart, well-behaved, trusting, adorable, silly (loves the semi-deflated basketball and is a HOOT to watch as she bats it around and chases it), has a kennel full of toys. she not the best at sharing since she can't see all that well, so her play time with toys is structured, she's a little too zealous with her rawhides and gags herself therefore those are a 'no-no', her favorite toys are ones that squeak or move a bit but she's really not picky at all . . she truly does LOVE all toys J . . she doesn't tear up her toys or bedding but again she really is a bit of a toy hoarder so you can usually find most (if not all of her toys) tucked away in her kennel J. In typical Rottie fashion she needs to be the queen of the household so no other large dominant females, but she is fine with her little white fluffy female friend lily, . .she does get along well with the males in our household but when they are playing rough I keep her separated since she can't see well and it's not fair for her to get 'ambushed' when they are engaging in their typical play behavior - She would do fine as an only dog too. . .. she is a good guard dog and will alert you if someone is approaching you or your residence that she is not familiar with. She REALLY gets around quite well so it leads me to believe she can at least see shadow, if not more. She LOVES, LOVES, LOVES her walks and will sleep quietly at your feet while you watch TV and/or work on your pc. She is ok being left on her own as long as she has access to a doggie door. She would NEVER, EVER, EVER pottie in the house, her kennel or her sleeping area and she is extremely good at finding a way to let herself out if needed and then back in as well. Again, she does listen really well and her main goals in life are to love, be loved and to please her pet parents . everything else (even toys, walks and belly rubs) are secondary to those 3 things in her life DON'T MISS EMILY's VIDEO. jUST CLICK ON THE PICTURE OF THE TV SET BY HER PICTURES (Less)

This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning.
