Rescue Me ID: 16-02-13-00499Derby (male)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi, My name is Derby and I lost my 'human' and home. I'm staying with a nice foster family and they treat me well but I'm too big for their house. And, I admit that my foster brother & sister (8lbs and 12lbs) are afraid of me when I try to play with them. I would never hurt them on purpose but I do love to play and sometimes don't know my own strength. I'm looking for a forever home with a family who will play tug of war with me, take me on car trips (I LOVE going for drives), walk with me, play fetch and maybe give me a brother or sister closer to my size that I can play with. I love the water so if you have a pool that I can play in ... (Read More)that would be a bonus! But I have to I'm 3 years old, my birthday was December 27th, 2011. I'm very healthy and have had my shots & am neutered. My mother was a hound dog mix and my father was a Rottweiller. I take after my dad in most ways including my handsome physical appearance and my personality. I'm very smart, I sit and lay down when you tell me to and I come when you call me. I'd love some more training though, I haven't been to real school. I'm loyal to my human family but I've been socialized so I'm friendly with all humans. I don't bark very much even when I hear people walking outside. About the only time I bark is if I hear other dogs barking but that's just me being polite answering them. I like kids, although, if my new forever family has small kids, I'll try very hard not to accidentally hurt them by knocking them down when I'm feeling playful but I can't promise because like I said, sometimes I forget how big I am when I want to play. I'll bring my own comfy bed, blanket, water & food bowls along with some toys I like to play with and my shot records. ( see my YouTube video button below my photo) (Less)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Josie is between 2 and 3 years old, a very sweet girl who is good with people and other dogs. I witnessed her run into a cat and the cat scared her pretty bad and she ran away from the cat and into her house. She does need some work brushing up on her obedience skills, but Rotties are quick learners. She does walk very well on a leash. She is pretty laid back kind of a dog who would make any family happy to own her. Please go to www.rottenrottie.com and fill out the adoption questionnaire under the forms tab and return it to us. Rescue Me ID: 16-02-04-00319Tracker (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Puppy

Personality: Average Energy
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Tracker is only 4 months old. He is a self-confident purebred Rottweiler puppy looking for his forever home. We will be very picky with him as he is not damaged good and comes with no emotional issues and we want to keep that way. There are some basic standards that you must meet to adopt this little boy. He needs to stay living in the Phoenix area You must own your own single family home with a yard and it must have some grass for him to play on. Pool is a plus but not mandatory. It must have a private back yard with brick walls enclosing the property, so that he cannot escape. Backing up to an ally is not preferred but we will take ... (Read More)into consideration. There must be someone home so that he is only left alone for a maximum of 4 hours at a time. If there are only two adults in the home and you both work 10+ hours a day, you need not apply. You need to be living on your own and not with your parents still. However your parents are invited to apply for him. We would like you to have basic knowledge of how to train a dog and some experience in it and experience with the breed. We would like everyone to watch the video posted on this webpage http://www.rottenrottie.com/our-rotties.html. Owning a Rottweiler is a lifetime commitment to work with and train him every day of his life. If you do not have any experience with the breed and have never trained a dog, then start studying up on it. Rottweilers have been listed as the top 10 most expensive pets to own. On average mine probably cost me about $2500 in medical expenses every year. Usually a little bit cheaper as they are young but as they get older it can be expensive. We highly suggest getting pet insurance on your new dog. Because Rottweilers in general are prone to so many problems health insurance for him may cost you $50-$100 per month. If you can't afford to pay that then you really can't afford a Rottweiler. I have never paid more out for my policy then my policy paid in on claims. Please only apply if you feel you meet these criteria. Thank you! Please read our adoption process below to find out the first step in making little Tracker yours. (Less)

Some people longer than others. He is healthy. And obviously very handsome. Check out his video by clicking on the pic of the TV set above. He is ok with other dogs, but not great with them. Rescue Me ID: 15-12-05-00044Whitaker (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Senior

Health: Neutered

Whitaker is a senior Rottie whose owner went to jail for along time. He was dropped off at his vets office to be boarded while his relatives figured things out. They eventually surrendered him to his vet who in turn surrendered him to us. Whitaker has something called wobblers disease we believe. It affects the way he walks, but it does not require daily medication or management. So basically we are looking for a forever home for Whitaker. Some place with a warm comfortable bed to lay his head at night. Whitaker is a very sweet dog. If you are wanting a senior dog who is pretty chill and goes with the flow, then Whitaker is your for you!

Rescue Me ID: 15-11-14-00015Brawny (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered

Brawny was in bad shape when we got him. His ideal and current weight is about a 100 pounds however when we rescued him he weighed in at 60 pounds. He had tick fever, and sores all over his body. We nursed him back to health. And then almost as soon as he was feeling good and up to his ideal weigh he tore his ACL. So about 2 months ago he underwent surgery to repair that. He is now ambulatory, doing well and will make a full recovery in another couple of months when his he is able to rebuild the muscles in that leg. Brawny seems to get along with most dogs. He has only not cared for one other dog that he has met and lived with. Mostly ... (Read More)because he had too much energy and would pester Brawny to play with him. The pound listed him as being 5 years old. Some of Brawny's favorite people are 8 and 15 year old. He lives with them and adores them and is happiest when the 8 year old will sit with him and pay attention to him. His face lights right up and he is in his glory. Brawny is crate trained, potty trained, leash trained and obedience trained. He is pretty perfect if you ask us, or anyone else who has met him. If you would like to meet Brawny or any of our not so Rotten Rotties, please go to www.rottenrottie.com and fill out the adoption questionnaire under the forms tab and return it to us. Rescue Me ID: 15-08-13-00745Tyson (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered

Tyson is a great dog. He loves being around people. He hates being left alone. He rides great in the car we have taken him to eat with us to drive thru or outside patios. We have always taken a big jug of water with us which he chooses to put his paws in and drink. Tyson loves going on walks and he walks well on a leash. Tyson came to us not knowing how to sit or stay. He has mastered sit but learning stay is still a work in progress. He does use the doggie door, is potty-trained and is being crate-trained. Tyson loves to play catch also loves any puddle, bowl, or pool to swim in. No amount of water is too small for him to give it ... (Read More)his best shot, but of course a full size pool is his preference. He has a great sense of humor, and is a very calm dog. He prefers to lay with you on the couch or on your bed. We tried to introduce Tyson to a female dog once which did not go all that well. A meet and greet would be necessary before he could be adopted into a home with other animals. When we go on walks and other dogs are barking he doesn't get aggressive just curious looks. Tyson is very protective of his rawhide bones. He hides them in the backyard. He has shown some possession issues with the bone only. No issues with food or his water bowls. Tyson is a great big boy friendly to all people and kids! He is being fostered with a 7 year old boy and has had no issues. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-12-14-00140Slim (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi my name is....my name is...(what) my name is... Slim Shady! I am a rottweiler puppy and the older I get the more handsome I become. About a year ago I was found as a stray wondering the streets of Phoenix when animal control took me in to their shelter. I was very very sick. I was so sick I couldn't even see. I was only about 3 months old at the time. As soon as I came in, the shelter called the rottweiler rescue and explained that I needed to be taken out of the shelter and get medical attention ASAP. So they came and got me and took me to see Dr Carr who ran some blood work and discovered that I have diabetes :-(. It's been a long road ... (Read More)in getting me healthy, but with the patience, care and attention of the most awesome foster mom I could ever ask for, I am happy to report that have never looked, smelled, felt better in my whole life!! The hard work is done. Now my continued care consists of two injections a day with a very small needle, and I'll be a trooper for you and won't even flinch. I need drops in my eyes twice a day and I need my blood sugar monitored 2 to 3 times a day or whenever I may seem like I'm not quite right. I have to eat 3x per day at the same time every day. So I need a family where someone is usually home morning, night and lunch. My rescue cares very much for me and would never expect you to adopt me and be on your own. They will continue to be involved in my care to answer any questions or help you figure things out, should my numbers start to slide out of range. So you see, you would have a whole network of people who will stand behind you as you learn how to care for me. In return I will be the most well behaved puppy you have ever met, and I will be by your side whenever you need me. My love for my peeps run deep. So if you are an extremely responsible person, who doesn't mind having to be home at the same time every morning and night to feed and give me my insulin, and wants a handsome new best friend, please contact the rescue. You won't regret it! In June I went to see Eye Care for Animals and they determined that I was a good candidate for surgery to have my vision restore. My surgery cost $5000 but it was worth it!!! I can see everything now. I never knew the world was so pretty! I need drops in my eyes everyday, Now that Slim can see he shows aggression to some dogs especially little dogs. Since he was blind he basically has not been socialized around other dogs until now. Slim went into a foster home with a cat and a dog and he was great with the dog before and after surgery, however after his surgery he attacked their cat. We had to place him in a different foster home and have since been working with him to get him over this aggression. Slim was professionally remote collar trained by dynamic dog training. They have offered to give his new owners a lesson on the correct way on how to work with slim on remote collar ($200 value) for free. Slim's medical expenses in average is more then a normal dog. His medical expenses run about $75 a month plus vet visits and blood work will be needed in addition. He is not a good choice for someone on a tight budget. click here to see a video made for slim https://cloud.real.com/s/ZQ8xbR (Less)
