Rescue Me ID: 17-07-26-00412SAHARA (female)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sahara is an extrovert; she is outgoing and sociable. She really is just a big puppy. She weighs in at 59 pounds and will not be a year old until September. When she is taken out of her kennel, her initial reaction is to roll over; might as well enjoy a belly rub before starting any adventure. Sahara came from the county shelter where she was listed as a Labrador and Rottweiler mix, and she also has the flowing fur of a German Shepherd. All of her genetics mixed up to create the perfect hostess. She must welcome everyone she spies, and she will make sure to flash her smile and wag her tail to all. The adoption fee is $275 and includes ... (Read More)spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm, and Mondays by appointment, and we are located at 10220 N. 32nd Street (just south of Shea Blvd.) in Phoenix. Out-of-state adoptions to surrounding states are possible; however, an in-person introduction with us and our dogs is mandatory. We offer a low-cost vaccine clinic on Sundays from 11:00 am-2:30 pm, and a low-cost dental clinic on Wednesdays by appointment. Visit our website at www.homefurgood.org for more information. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-07-22-00098Rosie (female)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Health: Spayed

Meet Rosie! She was originally purchased from puppies n luv at the mall for just under $3000. I have her pedigree and her Akc papers for her new owner. She is 2 years old now. She is in great health. Probably weighs close to 90 pounds. Not fat at all. She is a bit shy with people but great with cats and dogs. She was play bowing to my dog trying to get her to play with her in under 30 minutes after they met. Within 5 minutes of dropping her leash. She is friendly just a little unsure of new people that approach her, but not aggressive if the person is not threatening. Pretty sure her natural Rottie instincts would kick In if she needed to ... (Read More)protect her family. She was a confident dog and accepted affection when her previous owners were with her. She became a little scared and confused once they left. We just got her today. I'm sure in a week she will be much more confident. She is well behaved. She is going to make someone very happy. Her previous owners had to move and could not take her with them. She will be spayed on Wednesday 7/19 and then be up for adoption. They had one child who was 16 years old. She was great with him. She has never been around small kids. Interested? Rottweiler    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Electra is a happy go lucky puppy, who is very well behaved for her age of 5 months. She plays with her toys and has left things that do not belong to her alone. At least this month she has been good, but she is a Rottie puppy and I make no promises how she may act next month :-) She currently lives with a male 9-month-old puppy and they play non-stop. She also lives with a cat and pays no mind to it. Prior to her current foster home, she lived in a foster home with multiple Rottweilers of different ages and both sexes. She was a little relentless in trying to get the older Rotties to play with her, even though they made it clear that they ... (Read More)did not want to play with her. She would do well with children She is learning to walk well on a leash, she knows some basic commands, like sit and come. She is just a baby and her new owner will have the pleasure of teaching her the rest. She is very smart and learns easily. She was an owner surrender. The owner had her in an apartment and could not keep her. She will melt your heart. Fill out a questionnaire under the forms tab on www.rottenrottie.com and return it if you would like to meet Electra! She is spayed, up to date on her shots and microchipped. Rescue Me ID: 17-07-15-00215Ava (female)

Rottweiler    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Ava is a stunningly beautiful 9-month-old girl who is good with all dogs of all sizes. She was surrendered because she growled at the children who would try to go near her while she was chewing on her bone. So she needs to go to a responsible family who has the intelligence to monitor their children around her. Older kids would be a better fit, or no kids is probably best. She is a puppy and has not had a whole lot of training yet, but she is super smart and learns things really fast. She is also somewhat calm, so she is not an out of control, wild child like some can be. She is so smart that she figured out how to push the slider out of the ... (Read More)doggie door in just a few minutes. She is the first dog to have figured that out here, and there have been a 100 dogs at least before her. She is spayed, up to date on her shots, and microchipped, and excited to meet her new family and find her forever home. She will melt your heart. Fill out a questionnaire under the forms tab on www.rottenrottie.com and return it if you would like to meet Ava. Her adoption fee is $400. Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Rocco's family loved him very much and it was extremely hard for them to give him up, but they lost their home and had to go live in a shelter and shelters do not allow dogs of any breed especially not Rottweilers. Rocco has been professionally trained and knows many commands. He will perform the command as soon as you ask him too. He listens well and aims to please. Cats and livestock are unknown. He sometimes can come off as aggressive when you first meet him, but he quickly warms up to most people once properly introduced. Give him a treat and you are his new best friend. He has been around older children and he does well with them. He is ... (Read More)a good boy that looks intimidating but is just a giant teddy bear. He was not socialized properly or taken away from his litter too early in life and he is very reactive when he sees other dogs. It would be necessary for Rocco to be an only dog. If you would like to meet Rocco please go to http://www.rottenrottie.com/adoption.html and fill out the adoption questionnaire under the forms tab and return it to us. Rescue Me ID: 17-04-29-00183Mercy (female)

Rottweiler    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Mercy was rescued from the euthanasia list at MCACC. She had been attacked by another dog that she lived with and the owner surrendered both of them because she didn't want to deal with another fight, I guess. Currently Mercy lives with a male dog and the two adore each other. They sleep together, eat together, and follow each other around the house all day long. She is good with him. The other dog that attacked her was a female rottie/shepherd mix. I don't think it would be smart to place her in a home with another female dog, but she can hang with a friendly male for sure. We do not know if she has any experience with cats or kids. She is ... (Read More)a little shy when you first meet her, but does warm up quickly. She walks fabulous on a flat collar, knows her obedience commands, is potty trained and is not destructive at all. She is a really good girl and any family would be lucky to have her. Rescue Me ID: 17-04-29-00165Emily (female)

Rottweiler    Age: Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Emily is a female adult rottie whose age is unknown. We believe that she is probably aboitb3 years old or so. A family found her last winter running in the desert, and brought her home. She was nothing but skin and bones back then. Emaciated to the extreme. You could easily count every vertebrae. The family that found her, didn't want her in the house because she had s couple of ticks on her. This was dead of winter with temps dropping below 30 degrees at night. Try had her sleeping in a crate on their patio with some blankets piled on to of it. With not an once of fat on her body she became sick with pneumonia. When we were asked to take ... (Read More)her into our rescue, they had just taken her to their very who had diagnosed her as a diabetic. They did not want to deal with that and surrendered her to us. It's been a long road to her Emily where she is today. She is as healthy as anyone can expect a diabetic to be. Her numbers are within a good rage and she is now close to a normal weight for a healthy rottie. Her foster mom is god sent and does a fabulous job making sure that Emily gets her insulin shots twice a day . I ask her to write about how it is live with Emiy and this is what she said. Emily Gorgeous Classic Rottie - BEAUTIFUL Rottie face and build and VERY, VERY loving!! Her special needs do NOT limit her ability to enjoy life to the FULLEST . . she is not shy or limited in ANY way, shape or form. She is truly one of the BEST, EASIEST and MOST LOVING fosters I have had in my 10+ years of being involved in rescue. Again, Em not only LOVES her people, but she LOVES her toys, is SUPER-DUPER smart, well-behaved, trusting, adorable, silly (loves the semi-deflated basketball and is a HOOT to watch as she bats it around and chases it), has a kennel full of toys. she not the best at sharing since she can't see all that well, so her play time with toys is structured, she's a little too zealous with her rawhides and gags herself therefore those are a 'no-no', her favorite toys are ones that squeak or move a bit but she's really not picky at all . . she truly does LOVE all toys J . . she doesn't tear up her toys or bedding but again she really is a bit of a toy hoarder so you can usually find most (if not all of her toys) tucked away in her kennel J. In typical Rottie fashion she needs to be the queen of the household so no other females . . .she does get along well with the males in our household but when they are playing rough I keep her separated since she can't see well and it's not fair for her to get 'ambushed' when they are engaging in their typical play behavior - She would do fine as an only dog too. . .. she is a good guard dog and will alert you if someone is approaching you or your residence that she is not familiar with. She REALLY gets around quite well so it leads me to believe she can at least see shadow, if not more. She LOVES, LOVES, LOVES her walks and will sleep quietly at your feet while you watch TV and/or work on your pc. She is ok being left on her own as long as she has access to a doggie door. She would NEVER, EVER, EVER pottie in the house, her kennel or her sleeping area and she is extremely good at finding a way to let herself out if needed and then back in as well. Again, she does listen really well and her main goals in life are to love, be loved and to please her pet parents . everything else (even toys, walks and belly rubs) are secondary to those 3 things in her life (Less)

Rottweiler    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Junior just turned a year old and has barely had anyone invest the time he needed them to, for training. So his new owner will have a little bit of a challenge. He needs work in all areas of his obedience training, however he is smart and motivated and catches on quickly. He is housebroken and crate trained. If I didn't know better I would say this boy has springs for feet. He catches a lot of air when he plays ball with you! If you have been looking for a young dog who would go through agility training, this boy has champion written all over him! Junior plays well with most dogs. He is a sensitive boy who does not tolerate being over ... (Read More)corrected. He would do best in a home with children over the age of 12 or no kids at all. Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs

Bear is about 4 years old Male Neutered Rottweiler that doesn't understand there IS enough love to go around! This guy is a people-pleaser and wants nothing more than to have someone to hang out with all day! He is up for anything! From going on walks to laying around the house, as long as there's someone there to love him! Bear has shown some dog aggression in the past so a one dog home is the best for him. He is a very happy-go-lucky dog with a lot of energy so regular walks and a structured schedule will keep him in a better mindset. He came to Rotten Rotties very underweight and is gaining by the day! A good guesstimate of a healthy ... (Read More)weight for this guy is around 100-110 lbs. He is very friendly to new people as long as he's introduced properly but still 'bears' that protective instinct that we love about this breed. Bear comes professionally trained through Lorenzo's Dog Training Team and comes with free handling sessions to help make his transition into his new home easier for everyone involved. He walks nicely on the leash, knows the moving heel and stationary heel positions, sits/lays down and stays all on one command. Bear also sits patiently at the door when it's opened and knows the 'spot' command. He hasn't displayed any destructive behaviors and is fully house trained! This handsome guy does need to be the only pet in the family (no cats) and would enjoy an older little human to keep him company (8 years +). Buddy is house and kennel trained. Buddy will do best in a home that is familiar with the ... (Read More)'cattle dog type' breed, will promise to keep up with his learning and make him part of the day to day routine. If interested in meeting Buddy, please fill out and adoption consultation form at www.pittiemeresuce.org/forms.html. Buddy's adoption fee of of $125 covers his vaccines, rabies, microchip and neuter. Rescue Me ID: 16-10-01-00017Skye (female)

Rottweiler    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Skye (AKA Big Mama) is a spayed, happy, sweet, butt wiggling big girl. I believe she may be around 6 years old. She's content to just lay around with her favorite toy, a ChuckIt! ball that she always has with her. She loves belly rubs and walks. (She could use more walks, to drop some pounds) If she wants your attention she has been known to take your arm in her mouth, very gently, and move it to her. She loves water. She will play in a kiddie pool as well as her water bowl. She was adopted from the Apache Junction Paws & Claws Care center in 2013. She was found as a stray weighing only 54lbs! She has definitely made up for the lack of ... (Read More)weight. She has been living with 6 other dogs, 2 females & 4 males, ranging from 15lbs to 40lbs, and a house with 3 women. She is the dominate dog of the house and will defend that title. Out of the other dogs, she has had no issues with any expect one, one other dominate female. She is a much smaller dog and has suffered serious repercussions of challenging her. This is no way makes Skye a violent dog. I believe she would do best in a house with either a male or non dominate dog. She would have no problem being an only dog either. She has never chewed or destroyed anything other than stuffed animals. She has no problem being home alone and is doggie door trained. She does have a crate, but has never been crated for an extended period of time. She is protective of her family. I have found it's best to keep her away from the door and held until she meets guests. She has given two men warning nips when they walked into the home unannounced. Once she is allowed to sniff and give her approval they'll be her new friend. She has no exposure with children under 13 or cats while I have had her. (Less)
