Rescue Me ID: 15-07-02-00681Farley (female)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Farley is about 2 years old. She is a large Rottweiler for a female, probably weighing in close to 95 pounds. She absolutely adores children, likes women and isn't so sure about men. She has been slowly warming up to her foster dad over this past week, but still isn't totally relaxed around him. On a leash she acts like a different dog, if he holds the end of that leash she is confident with him and affectionate towards him, eager to please him. When their 20 year old son leaves the house she cries & whines for him for a little while and then will stop, when he comes home she acts like it is Christmas morning; she couldn't be happier to see ... (Read More)him. She listens to him and does whatever he tells her to do, even more so than her foster parents. They may be foster failures, (in that they decide to adopt her) but just in case they are not, I wanted to post her so that we can find her forever family quickly. I think her perfect home might be one with a single mother with children. We do not know how Farley does with other animals. We have not had the opportunity to introduce her to any. She has a little cold right now. She is almost over it. If you are interested in meeting Farley, please go to www.rottenrottie.com and fill out the adoption questionnaire under the forms tab and return it to us. We will contact you once we have had a chance to look it over and let you know which dogs may be a good fit for you and your lifestyle. We look forward to working with you. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-07-02-00608Idaho (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Wow, this boy sure is handsome! He was transported here from Idaho with the name Oly, which, he seems to like as much as we do, and we are always referring to him as the boy from Idaho. We hope you will find him a more fitting name, like Bruce Wayne, because he has a perfect batman symbol on his heinie. We are working on basic obedience and would love for you to take him to some classes. He isn't great with other males but he sure does seem to love the girl dogs. He was somewhat curious when he was introduced to cats. He is not good with kids apparently, but that is hard for us to believe. He is a nice boy looking for a new forever home. He ... (Read More)is a large boy and walks well on a leash with a prong collar. Knows sit, come, down, when he knows you and feels like doing it; typical stubborn Rottie, so we are working on that. Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Eden is a stunning beautiful girl who is probably between 1 and 3 years old, she is good with other dogs both small and large. Good with the other dogs that she has met and lived with, good with kids as long as they don't sit on her, lay on her, poke her in the eye, pull on her ears and/or tail; if they do, she may growl at them. She walks well on a leash, she knows some basic commands. She loves to chase a ball. She is underweight and needs to gain about 10 pounds. She can be the sweetest thing you have ever loved on or if you stare her in the eyes too long she may bark or growl and act like a Rottweiler. Her foster parents adore her and ... (Read More)think she is the coolest girl Rottie around. She will melt your heart. Eden has been living with a cat for the past several weeks and her foster parents have been slowly introducing them. At first she was really interested in the cat, but each day the cat has become less and less interesting. She does not bother with it anymore, but may still chase it if in a playful mood. Fill out a questionnaire under the forms tab on www.rottenrottie.com and return it if you would like to meet Eden! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-07-02-00548Chico (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered

Chico is an AKC registered/papered 1 year old Rottweiler. He was purchased from a breeder and shortly after the owner was sent to prison. Her elderly mother had to take over the job of raising her 4 children and her dog. Overwhelmed with such, she put Chico in the back yard and he never let him out. He is a very intelligent boy. I taught him stay and down in just a few minutes. He is pretty calm for his age. He is incredibly handsome!! Very affectionate and eager to please. He is not too social with other dogs and gets excited to see them but not in an aggressive way, I think it would be very possible for him to live with another dog ... (Read More)without issues. Cats are unknown. Older children recommended. He will melt your heart instantly!! Please fill our adoption questionnaire located under the forms tab on www.rottenrottie.com (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-07-02-00432Purebred litter

Rottweiler    Age: Young Puppy

It's rare that purebred rottweiler puppies are born into rescue, but we rescued both parents from a bad situation and they were already pregnant when we got them. They were born on May 29th. They will not be able to go to their new homes until they are 8 weeks old. You can go ahead and fill out our adoption questionnaire but we are expecting to receive a lot of applications and there are only 4 puppies and it's hard to decide on the best parents but that will be our goal. Please be patient while we sort through them all. Please fill out the questionnaire with as much detail as you like to give us the full picture of what you know about the ... Rescue Me ID: 15-05-24-00552Hattie (female)

Rottweiler    Age: Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

We rescued Hattie from the euthanasia list at MCACC, and we are so happy we did. She is a true gem. She is good with other dogs and people, including children. She appears to be in good health. She still has energy enough to run around the back yard with her foster brother and sister who are also Rottweilers. She is potty trained and leashed trained. She isn't that awesome with her basic obedience commands but she does listen and corrects easily. She could use a refresher course on her recall, sit, down and place commands. She is looking for a family who will allow her to live inside the house with them. Who is kind and gentle and will allow ... (Read More)her to curl up on her dog bed at their feet while they watch tv at night. There is a 4 year old who visits her foster home frequently and she has done great with her. She can be vocal with other dogs, as she demands the respect of being their elder. After a couple of weeks, once she is getting the respect that she deserves, we found that she will quiet down and stop grumbling. Hattie is a wonderful girl. We believe that someone owned her previously for the purpose of breeding her and once she got too old to have more puppies, they dumped her. She deserves a home that will love her until the end of her days. She has been spayed, she is up to date in her vaccinations, heart worm tested negative and on a preventative, microchipped and comes with a collar and a leash. Her adoption fee is $75. Please go to www.rottenrottie.com and fill out the adoption questionnaire under the forms tab and return it to us. We will contact you once we have had a chance to look it over and let you know if we feel Hattie may be a good fit for you and your lifestyle, and schedule a time for you to meet her.     Good Dog Carl is new to our rescue and we haven't discovered everything about him yet, but I can tell you that he is very playful and affectionate. He has been polite and kind to everyone he has met. He seems to be okay with other dogs but we have not let him play with them off leash yet. He is calm around them and doesn't particularly like confrontation. He was taken from the euthanasia list at MCACC. He was picked up as a stray in the field. Someone has spent some time with him, as he does know most of his basic obedience commands. He knows how to use a doggie door. We do not know if he is potty trained or not yet, because he has ... Rescue Me ID: 15-04-22-00848Ziggy (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Ziggy is a very handsome purebred Rottweiler who is almost 2 years old. He has not been socialized with other dogs, but doesn't really seem aggressive with them at all. He seems more playful then anything. He is a bit pushy and can be overbearing and die to his size I don't think that anyone has wanted to take the chance on letting him in the play yard with another dog. We have not had one that we feel would tolerate how forward he can be. But through a fence it's all play bowing with his butt in the air and elbows on the ground. He is house trained, but if he is not watched closely he will find trouble like getting into s garbage can. He ... (Read More)has gone through boot camp remote collar training with Empowered K9 Training, one of the very best trainers around, and I'm sure, for a fee, he would be happy to give you lessons on the best way to handle Ziggy. He is very manageable and pleasure to be around when he is wearing his collar. He doesn't listen very well without it on, unfortunately. Ziggy walks well on a leash and knows all of his commands. He lives with some cats but they are afraid of him and stay upstairs while Ziggy mostly lives downstairs. So it is not suggested that Ziggy live with cats. They are afraid for good reasons. He is not a marker. He is not one who feels the need to squirt down everything on the patio, in fact, I have never really seen him mark on anything. Got to Love that!!! Ziggy has a lot of energy and should be in a house with active people who will walk him everyday or possibly take him swimming in the summer. He likes to chase a ball but doesn't always like to bring it back to you. He would rather you chase him down and try to take it from him. He is a great guy with lots of love to offer. please go to www.rottenrottie.com and fill out the adoption questionnaire under the forms tab and return it to us. Rescue Me ID: 15-04-22-00797Calico (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I would like to introduce you to Calico, our newest Rotten Rottie! Calico is believed to be between 1.5 and 2 years old. His foster mom rescued him about 5 months ago. He was tied to a tree and was being starved and his owner was trying to toughen him up to be a good guard dog. He wasn't mean enough so he agreed to give him to his foster mom, Heather. Heather took him home and fattened him up (to his ideal weight, since he was so skinny) She worked on and mastered his basic obedience training with the help of Dynamic Dog Training AZ. He is perfect in every way now with the exception of other dogs. He needs to be socialized with them more. He ... (Read More)is very dog reactive. He went on the pack walk last Thursday night and Heather said she can already see a big difference. Heather has gotten him to the point where he can hang out supervised with her other dogs but still doesn't trust him fully. Calico can be a little shy when you first meet him but he warms up fairly quickly. He just needs to meet more people. He is little rottie weighing in at only about 65 pounds, but cute as can be, right?? His perfect owner would live in a house that has a secured back yard, who has time to spend with him, and loves going on long walks, jogs or hikes with him. They would have one or no dogs who is his same size, preferably a female, and submissive and playful and who is balanced enough to have patience with Calico and teach him how to play like a good dog should. Rescue Me ID: 15-02-14-00327Aladdin (male)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Aladdin was saved from the euthanasia list at MCACC (county dog pound) our director went to meet him on the first day he was on the list. She fell in love with him. He was very friendly and happy to meet her. However, we are a rottweiler rescue and we focus our efforts on saving purebred rottweilers only. Aladdin was not a purebred. He is too short/small to be a purebred, so we made the tough decision to pass on him. Normally county only gives them one or two days on the Euthanasia list before they carry out the threat. However 6 days later he was still alive! Knowing that there was about a 95% chance they would kill him, and he was out of ... (Read More)time to find another rescue, I went to bed that night. At 4:30am I woke up and was wide awake, laying there and watching the minutes tick by and couldn't think of anything more than Aladdin. They kill them at 5am at the pound and the whole scenario played through my head and I knew in less then 15 minutes, a worker would come for him and leash him up to walk him down the hallway to his death. I couldn't stand the thought, so I make a phone call and asked the kennel supervisor to hold him from the slaughter because I was coming to get him, and I did. He isn't the best with other dogs, but is living with a female rottie now and they are tolerating each other fine. He needs some work with his basic obedience but his foster family has been working with him every day and have seen great improvement. He needs some work. He is a diamond in the rough, waiting for a special family to give him a chance and make him theirs. His adoption fee is only $150.that includes his neuter, shots and microchip. He will come with a collar and a leash. He will melt your heart. Please give Aladdin a chance. You won't regret it. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-12-14-00140Slim (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi my name is....my name is...(what) my name is... Slim Shady! I am a rottweiler puppy and the older I get the more handsome I become. About a year ago I was found as a stray wondering the streets of Phoenix when animal control took me in to their shelter. I was very very sick. I was so sick I couldn't even see. I was only about 3 months old at the time. As soon as I came in, the shelter called the rottweiler rescue and explained that I needed to be taken out of the shelter and get medical attention ASAP. So they came and got me and took me to see Dr Carr who ran some blood work and discovered that I have diabetes :-(. It's been a long road ... (Read More)in getting me healthy, but with the patience, care and attention of the most awesome foster mom I could ever ask for, I am happy to report that have never looked, smelled, felt better in my whole life!! The hard work is done. Now my continued care consists of two injections a day with a very small needle, and I'll be a trooper for you and won't even flinch. I need drops in my eyes twice a day and I need my blood sugar monitored 2 to 3 times a day or whenever I may seem like I'm not quite right. I have to eat 3x per day at the same time every day. So I need a family where someone is usually home morning, night and lunch. My rescue cares very much for me and would never expect you to adopt me and be on your own. They will continue to be involved in my care to answer any questions or help you figure things out, should my numbers start to slide out of range. So you see, you would have a whole network of people who will stand behind you as you learn how to care for me. In return I will be the most well behaved puppy you have ever met, and I will be by your side whenever you need me. My love for my peeps run deep. So if you are an extremely responsible person, who doesn't mind having to be home at the same time every morning and night to feed and give me my insulin, and wants a handsome new best friend, please contact the rescue. You won't regret it! In June I went to see Eye Care for Animals and they determined that I was a good candidate for surgery to have my vision restore. My surgery cost $5000 but it was worth it!!! I can see everything now. I never knew the world was so pretty! I need drops in my eyes everyday, Now that Slim can see he shows aggression to some dogs especially little dogs. Since he was blind he basically has not been socialized around other dogs until now. Slim went into a foster home with a cat and a dog and he was great with the dog before and after surgery, however after his surgery he attacked their cat. We had to place him in a different foster home and have since been working with him to get him over this aggression. Slim was professionally remote collar trained by dynamic dog training. They have offered to give his new owners a lesson on the correct way on how to work with slim on remote collar ($200 value) for free. Slim's medical expenses in average is more then a normal dog. His medical expenses run about $75 a month plus vet visits and blood work will be needed in addition. He is not a good choice for someone on a tight budget. click here to see a video made for slim https://cloud.real.com/s/ZQ8xbR (Less)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Soul is a 3 year old American Bulldog/Rottweiler Mix. Soul is a beautiful and very playful dog that is very intelligent and super sweet. Soul was brought in to Maricopa County Animal Care & Control on as a stray. She was placed on the euthanasia list for animal aggression and requires a slow introduction with other dogs, though it would be best that she is an 'only child'! Soul has just that, a lot of soul. Though she is playful and goofy, she also has a deep side to her, you can see her study things thoughtfully. She walks well on a leash, is housebroken and crate trained and loves to play! She has a beautiful solid black coat and such a ... (Read More)sweet face! Soul is spayed and current on Rabies, 4-1 and Bordatella vaccines and is microchipped. Her adoption fee is $100. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 13-05-21-00229Katie (female)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Katie is a very well behaved 4 year old Rottweiler. She has grown up with children and does very well with them and all people. She is potty trained and crate trained. She likes most other dogs and is non-reactive when she meets most of them. She is a dominant dog, and most other dogs will give her that respect. She can and has fed off the energy of other dogs and can redirect that energy towards any dog that may be near here, so she should not be walked with another dog by the same handler. She goes on weekly pack walks with about 10-20 other Rotties and has done very well, unless there is confrontation between other dogs and then she ... (Read More)wants to be in the middle of it. She corrects fairly easy when it comes to that. She uses a doggie door and comes and goes as she pleases, never chews or digs. She has lived with dogs of all sizes. She loves swimming in the pool. She would do very well as an only dog, because she is an attention hog but has successfully lived with other dogs. I would not pair her with another female dog though, only submissive male dogs. She is 99.9% perfect. If you would like to meet Katie, please go to www.rottenrottie.com and fill out the adoption questionnaire under the forms tab and return it to us. We will contact you once we have had a chance to look it over. We look forward to working with you. (Less)

This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning. Rottweilers can be good family pets that are trustworthy with children and other pets if they are trained and socialized from an early age. If a Rottweiler is not treated properly it can become aggressive. Rottweilers need plenty of exercise and can run in open country without a leash. Rottweilers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard if they get enough exercise.
