This one year old little girl is new to our rescue. She does well with other dogs. She is shy at first but warms up rather quickly. Cats and kids are unknown, but I can't imagine her not doing well with kids. Her foster mom is a novice trainer and is working with her with her basic commands. When she came to us, it was apparent that no one had spent time training her or feeding her, for that matter. We have been working hard to try to put some weight on her.. Hilo was found in the middle of the street at 16th street and McDowell, and after two hours of trying to catch him, his pursuer was successful. He turned him into the pound and then called us and begged us to rescue him. Hilo is a frightened puppy of only about a year old. When he first came to us all he wanted to do is hide and become invisible. In the two weeks that we have had him, we have had him in intense training and rehabilitation and Hilo has come a very long way, but still has a long way to go. No matter how afraid he has been, he has not bitten anyone, I think he may be good with children for that reason, and kids may help him along in his quest to be a braver more confident rottie. Apollo is a very confident, intelligent and loving 6 year old male Rottweiler with a big block head that everyone seems to want in their rottie. He used to be a show dog that was also used for breeding. When the breeder was done with him, he took him to their vet and asked that the vet euthanize him! Apollo is a very healthy male and a true joy to be around. The thought of someone doing that to him is sad. His vet refused to kill him for no reason at all, and they contacted our rescue. He is protective over his foster family already, and is the perfect example of what a rottweiler should look and act like. Again, stating his assessment yesterday ~ 100 lb pure bred German Rottie who was owner surrendered for euth as his stud services were no longer needed. He was relegated to the back yard most of his life when he wasnt being shown in competitions. However, he is potty trained. Apollo is tuned in, eager to please, watches handler carefully for commands, respectful of others and so needing a wonderful family to call his own. Titan fits his name! He is a 140 pound giant rottweiler. His personality is the perfect model of how every rottie should be. He is great with people of all ages, dogs and cats. Not long ago he tore his ACL and his vet and rescue are trying to manage his pain the best we can on pain medication and joint supplement. We are hopeful that if he is able to loose 15-20 pounds that the injury will be tolerable. Surgery to repair the ACL is not an option until he looses the weight. While he is on a strict diet, we are trying to raise the funds to pay for his surgery. We have only been able to raise $200 to date. Please see the video posted here ... He also enjoys the 2 year old baby that comes to visit at his house often. Buster, like most rottweilers, have a stubborn streak and he could benefit from obedience training. Hey there, I'm Beast! I'm a 1 1/2 yr old, neutered male, Rottweiler mix. I'm a really cool dog that has a whole lot of energy. I was in a home with various kids that ranged from ages 1 to 7 yrs old. I did play a bit rough with them though so older kids would be best, or someone who has an active life style and likes to go jogging or walking so I can use up my energy. Rottweiler Dogs can make good pets in Arizona if they match your IifestyIe. The Rottweiler is a large breed herding and guard dog. Rottweilers are very stable and brave. This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning. Rottweilers can be good family pets that are trustworthy with children and other pets if they are trained and socialized from an early age. If a Rottweiler is not treated properly it can become aggressive. Rottweilers need plenty of exercise and can run in open country without a leash. Rottweilers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard if they get enough exercise.
