Rescue Me ID: 17-11-11-00252Scrappy (male)
DOB: 7/2/2011, intact male. Awesome dog. Loving and laid back. Gets along with other dogs, cats, my kitten and I was told children. The only exception I've found is my Boston. He's very protective and house broken. Was told he was trained as a guard dog. I believe he was but he could certainly use proper training. Or maybe its just me...

Rescue Me ID: 17-10-30-00191Diezel (male)
Very sweet 1.5 yr old purebred America Rottweiler. We are wanting someone to offer a good loving home where he has room to run and play and be happy. Where we live now that just isn't possible and he has to be in his crate alot and I feel like he's sad and its not fair to him. He is good with kids, females, and males and other dogs. Never been around cats. Up to date on all shots and everything I have all vet records and he is CKC registered. We will work with the right person on the fee if necessary.
Clark County JEFFERSONVLLE, IN 47130-7749 MAP IT!
Rescue Me ID: 17-10-29-00174Jewel (female)
Jewel is a very sweet affectionate girl who just wants loved on. She can be a bit hand shy but once she warms up she is all over you. She loves kids and is always following them. So far she is good with dogs but prefers them not to be hyper and in her face but instead laid back like her. We think most of her life she was an outside dog so she gets scared easily inside with objects but everyday is getting better. She is house trained and we have not kenneled her when we are gone and has done wonderful. She is definitely not a fan of cats! She walks well on a leash and is good going for car rides. She is an all natural girl with natural ears and tail. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-10-23-00378Thumper (male)
If you are interested in meeting Thumper, please complete a required application on our website as the first step of the adoption process. www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. In order for us to process questions and applications more timely, include any questions directly on the application. Thumper's adoption fee is $175. Meet Thumper. Besides his obvious good looks, Thumper also has an awesome personality. Thumper is a 1.5-year-old, 60-pound rottie/shepherd mix with probably some other breeds in there too. He is super handsome and his smile melts many hearts. Thumper is looking for a new home because he has decided he does not want to share his home with children. It has surprised everyone who knows him because he loves humans otherwise. Thumper has been raised around other dogs. He loves a good game of chase and might prefer a sweet dog buddy in his forever home. It's hard to say because he hasn't known it any other way. He has also been raised around cats and does not pay them any attention. Older children who are predictable and gentle will be fine for Thumper. Thumper isn't much into toys but does love to explore outdoors. He would like an active and snuggly companion in his forever home--he's medium energy and not at all obnoxious. Even while taking pictures it was hard for us to get out of the background because he wanted to touch or lean at all times. He is such a sweet guy! Thumper is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm tested. He is also microchipped. Thumper is housebroken and crate trained, but has not been known to be destructive. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-10-18-00627Creed (male)
Very sweet neutered male looking for a new home, as he is to rough with our young children. He treats them more like litter mates than as his humans. He is very loving and has no idea how big he is. He is at an ideal weight according to the vet and has always been healthy. He's crate and potty trained. Would probably do best in a home with older children or no children.

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-25-00657COCO (female)
CoCo is a 14 mo old little rott/shep/pit mix. She is fearful of strangers. This can be turned around with lots of treats and socialization. CoCo will be protective of her family and will only go to a financially secure homeowner with outstanding vet references. She will need one family who will work hard to make sure she gets socialized. She's very sweet and cuddly with her main person. She is shy with strangers. CoCo will need a calm, quiet home. She is microchipped and fully vetted.

Animal ID: #456Happy Jack (male)
Happy Jack has been returned to the rescue and is back up for adoption. He is the same sweet boy. Happy Jack came to us on 1/6/2016 from IACC as he was in urgent need of rescue due to banging his head on his cage and was tearing his face up. IACC believed it to be due to separation anxiety, but since arriving last night, he really has been a sweet boy. He is great with kids, good with other dogs, good with cats, and doesn't even care about the horses.. He did well in his cage overnight, no messes, didn't try to bust out.. I was actually very impressed this morning when i went out to take care of everyone. Happy Jack was just sitting there awaiting for us to come clean and feed.. He doesn't know many tricks, but believe that he could learn to sit and stay easily! He will shake hands with you at times.. Happy Jack is current in all his vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick preventative, neutered, and micro chipped.. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Rottweiler in Indiana
Rottweiler Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Rottweiler is a large breed herding and guard dog. Rottweilers are very stable and brave. This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning. Rottweilers can be good family pets that are trustworthy with children and other pets if they are trained and socialized from an early age. If a Rottweiler is not treated properly it can become aggressive. Rottweilers need plenty of exercise and can run in open country without a leash. Rottweilers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard if they get enough exercise.
