She is not up to date on vaccines and has not had a recent heartworm test. Sadie ... (Read More)weighs about 50 - 60 pounds. She went blind about two years ago, but they are unable to take her to the vet due to overwhelming medical bills. Her owners tell us that she appears to be healthy other than her sight. Owner Info: Sadie is a beautiful girl whose owners are unable to keep her. He has serious health issues, and due to mounting bills and financial hardship, they had to sell their home and are moving in six weeks, so Sadie needs a new home before then. They've tried Facebook and contacting no-kill shelters, but have not had any luck. They've been advised to put Sadie down, but, 'We want her to go to someone who will care for her.' Sadie is an indoor dog who is crated, but will sometimes bark, howl or whine to get out. She is housebroken, but not leash trained. She's a smart girl and knows the commands, Sit, Come and No, and may try to get food left on the counter or into the trash if she isn't watched. Sadie is described as nervous. She is good with both men and women, but is more used to women. 'Sadie is very attached to my wife. She follows her around and listens to her more so than me. My wife is Sadie's caregiver. Sadie is affectionate with our adult son. She is ok with company when we are here.' They also gave us details on how she is with other dogs. 'She gets along with most other dogs unless they are fighting over food...Another dog was trying to get her food. Snapped at other but no broken skin.' Sadie is not good with cats, and her owners tell us that before she became blind, she killed outdoor cats. Sadie's owners want us to know what a special girl she is! 'She does not mind being brushed. She loves being petted and my wife kisses her head and rubs her ears a lot. Sadie relaxes and sighs when she does this.' They're hoping Sadie can have her second chance! Please contact Please note we will ask for a vet reference. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Rottweiler in Kentucky
Rottweiler Dogs can make good pets in Kentucky if they match your IifestyIe. The Rottweiler is a large breed herding and guard dog. Rottweilers are very stable and brave. This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning. Rottweilers can be good family pets that are trustworthy with children and other pets if they are trained and socialized from an early age. If a Rottweiler is not treated properly it can become aggressive. Rottweilers need plenty of exercise and can run in open country without a leash. Rottweilers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard if they get enough exercise.
