Darlin Nicki is searching for a home of her own! She had a rough start in life but is now happy and has learned to love again. She's a little afraid initially but truly savors any attention lavished on her by her foster mom and dad. She is housetrained and even alerts her foster when she needs to go out to do her business. She does well on walks, but is also extremely happy couch surfing with her humans and furry foster sibling. Nicki is a little overweight, but that just means there is more of her to love. She need to go to a home who is willing to take her out for some exercise and be her running buddy.

Animal ID: 103095126Titus (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive

Titus is the friendliest and most loyal Rottweiler that I've ever owned/met. However, he has been 'leash aggressive' toward other dogs since he protected me from a dog that attacked me in the park. He now attacks some smaller or timid dogs that encroach upon his property/domain. I've had him since he was 9 months old, and he has been my best friend since. I have recently retired from the Navy, and live in an apartment in Baltimore. Many of my neighbors have smaller dogs that I cannot put at risk in such a close proximity. He loves the outdoors, but sleeps indoors. He swims, hikes and camps. Titus is also a certified service animal ... (Read More)from the SDCA (PTSD related). He is able to accompany me nearly anywhere I want to go. I am not sure if those services transfer, but I do know that it lasts for his lifetime. He needs space and to be away from small dogs. I will only consider adoption from individuals with experience handling large breeds. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Rottweiler in Maryland
Rottweiler Dogs can make good pets in Maryland if they match your IifestyIe. The Rottweiler is a large breed herding and guard dog. Rottweilers are very stable and brave. This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning. Rottweilers can be good family pets that are trustworthy with children and other pets if they are trained and socialized from an early age. If a Rottweiler is not treated properly it can become aggressive. Rottweilers need plenty of exercise and can run in open country without a leash. Rottweilers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard if they get enough exercise.
