Luke is a beautiful 1.5 yr old Rottweiler looking for his forever home! He's completely vetted, neutered, housebroke and crate trained. Luke does great around the other animals here and is just a big baby. He's a very sweet and well behaved guy. He did grow up with kids in his previous home, but we think the perfect home for Luke would be in a household with no young children. Please contact us if you'd like more info on Luke and/or the adoption process/adoption fee.

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-30-00150Ratchet (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Abused/Neglected, Fearful/Anxious

Just got an update on Ratchet. He is still in the shelter but showing less anxiety and settling down. This rottie needs to find a home or go into foster. It is the shelter workers' opinion that Ratchet can be rehabilitated. Pat Baker This is 'Ratchet,' he has just turned 2 years in March and was from a breeder out of Midland. He knows sit, down, shake, and stay. Loves to play fetch with a tennis ball, squeak toy and tug with a rope. You can muzzle him, it just takes some time and patience. He will snap at new people if not introduced properly. His ears are sensitive due to an ear infection he had, but is doing better now. ... (Read More)'Ratchet' was originally brought to the shelter because the owner had a warrant out for his arrest and did not return to the house to care for 'Ratchet' for several days. He was picked up from the shelter by the owner's girlfriend and she later rehomed him though craigslist. L His next stop was a home with 4 children under the age of 8. The oldest was bit in the thigh when 'Ratchet' would not release the rope he was tugging on and tried to kick him. About a month later he as back for quarantine order #2. The 4 year old was nicked in the face for a warning. And he has been here ever since. He is very affectionate with me and our kennel staff, loves kisses and belly rubs. Unfortunately, because of his reactions to new people, his bite history and his breed we are in need of help finding his the right home. Any help you can give is very much appreciated. We have only had her a couple months and are not sure about her immunization status. Re homing fee with be incurred to avoid her ending up in a bad situation.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Rottweiler in Michigan
Rottweiler Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. The Rottweiler is a large breed herding and guard dog. Rottweilers are very stable and brave. This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning. Rottweilers can be good family pets that are trustworthy with children and other pets if they are trained and socialized from an early age. If a Rottweiler is not treated properly it can become aggressive. Rottweilers need plenty of exercise and can run in open country without a leash. Rottweilers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard if they get enough exercise.
