Rescue Me ID: 15-01-12-00592MAC (male)
MAC was my baby, but now that there is a human baby around MAC is not getting the love and attention he needs and deserves. Our house is too small and the dog doesn't get the baby can't move out of his way. He has never done any harm on purpose but because of his size he knocks around the baby. He needs to be cuddled, we did have another dog who passed about a year ago. He needs to be leashed or in a fenced in backyard when out and about. This breaks my heart but my husband is giving me no choice and if he doesn't find his forever family he will bring him to a shelter. He is active and healthy. I would still like to be a part of his life a visit here or there or dog sit. Thank you! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-03-00587Rocky (male)
Rocky is a 10 month old Rottie I adopted...he is extremely powerful yet gentle. He is average energy...not hyper. I was told he was excellent with other dogs. He is toy aggressive. ..so I feel he would do better in a one dog home. He is fine around my ten year old son...though the night we got him he growled in the car on the way home. My son is scared of him now...though Rocky has never done it again or showed aggressive behavior towards him I feel older children only would be best or no children. He is crate trained and knows sit. He is only 10 months and over 100 lbs.

Animal ID: 131310Sophia (female)
Sophia will melt your heart when you see her neglected state and that sad look in her soft eyes. You can tell she was left outside most of her life and it has taken a toll on her making her look older than her actual age which is probably around 8 years old. We gave her a nice brushing which she enjoyed immensely since it is doubtful she was ever pampered. Sophia is such a gentle soul and very loving and exceptionally sweet. She took the treats very gently and had a great food test. Of course, she had no idea what a toy nor a rawhide was..so sad. She just wanted to be near us and receive some affection and human kindness. She was fine with passing dogs outside. She is so easy to handle. All she needs is someone to love her and she's sure to give that love back to you. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-11-05-00564Duncan (male)
Duncan is a real sweetheart! He is so calm and mellow. He was found as a stray, which is very sad, considering he is almost completely blind from cataracts. Despite this, he has a wonderful temperament. We think he would do best in a home with another dog to be his helper. Please call the shelter at 908-996-2525 for more info.

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-06-00138Cassidy (female)
Cassidy is a nice girl but she is quite fearful here at our shelter. She is slowly coming out of her shell and enjoys a nice daily walk. She will need some time to warm up to a new owner so we are hoping to find someone with time, patience and experience with a fearful dog. We don't know what our sweet Cassidy has gone through prior to coming to us but we are hoping she finds love in a new home soon and in a home with adults only. If interested in meeting Cassidy, please complete an adoption application and we can schedule a time for you to meet her. Thank you. To fill out an adoption application, please go to www.theanimalorphanage.org and click on Pet Adoption and then Cat Adoption Form or Dog Adoption Form. Please remember to put Cassidy's name on the form. Thanks! Our pets are spayed or neutered prior to going to their new homes. |PIease Read Before Adopting a Rottweiler in New Jersey|
Rottweiler Dogs can make good pets in New Jersey if they match your IifestyIe. The Rottweiler is a large breed herding and guard dog. Rottweilers are very stable and brave. This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning. Rottweilers can be good family pets that are trustworthy with children and other pets if they are trained and socialized from an early age. If a Rottweiler is not treated properly it can become aggressive. Rottweilers need plenty of exercise and can run in open country without a leash. Rottweilers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard if they get enough exercise.
