he is a Rottweiler/ kangal Shepard mix. he does well with our boxer/bull dog mix. he likes to give hugs even to our 1 1/2 year old daughter. just recently he started to show signs of guarding issues. he loves people and other dogs he loves to play and he loves to love but he has started to love his toys and food more then us. im sure with some solid training he could be the best, but im not willing to risk it with our small child.

|Rescue Me ID: 17-04-24-00453Persephone (female)|
Persephone was taken in by animal control after investigating complaints by neighbors that she was being left tied up outside with no food or water. Because of this, she has shown a tendency for protecting her food which is understandable given the situation she came from. We are working with Persephone to get her better about this, so she can understand that from now on she will always have plenty of food on a regular basis. She will need an understanding owner willing to help her continue with her training. Persephone is otherwise a happy dog with a sweet demeanor and deserves a chance to have a family who can show her what a good life is like. Persephone is about 5 years old and 90 pounds. Please help Persephone find the loving home she deserves. Rottweiler Dogs can make good pets in New Jersey if they match your IifestyIe. The Rottweiler is a large breed herding and guard dog. Rottweilers are very stable and brave. This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning. Rottweilers can be good family pets that are trustworthy with children and other pets if they are trained and socialized from an early age. If a Rottweiler is not treated properly it can become aggressive. Rottweilers need plenty of exercise and can run in open country without a leash. Rottweilers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard if they get enough exercise.
