Rescue Me ID: 18-05-23-00319Schmoe - ready 5/27 (male)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Schmoe has never met a stranger, for he quickly makes people his friends. He loves to be petted and likes to walk outside. Schmoe would probably love to go for a run too, in a fenced yard or with a good running partner! He would also like to have movie night and stretch out on the couch with some popcorn and ear scratching. Schmoe get along with most other dogs with only an occasional dislike for other males. He has met a couple of cats and seems to just ignore them. Schmoe is mostly shiny black, but he has a lot of brown on his legs. This big fellow weighs 81 pounds and is about 3 years old. Please help Schmoe find the loving home he ... (Read More)deserves. Rescue Me ID: 18-05-05-00261Hermie (female)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hermie (Harmony) is a typical rottie - she is athletic & energetic but typically calm, barks infrequently and usually for a purpose, is very smart, well trained, and intensely attached to only her person, which is me. Hermie is a big baby (~85 lbs) and lap dog with me. My dogs are my family and this is very difficult for me. I've been a rottie dad for over 20 years now and never imagined I would ever have to rehome one of my pups. Would never consider rehoming her except she and my older female have started becoming aggressive with each other and despite my best efforts over many months, it's getting worse. Both are extremely sweet, ... (Read More)friendly with people and most other dogs, and extremely affectionate (with their people - i.e. me and few others). They have been best friends for most of the three years I've had Hermie and even now Hermie is extremely bonded and focused on her 'sister', just that neither will give in to other. I have a 10 month old baby daughter and Hermie has been very gentle, calm, and patient with her (though I keep a very close eye on all of their interactions, as I would with any dog). I will be extremely patient and selective to make sure Hermie goes to the right home (needs to be a good fit for both Hermie and new family). She would be best with a family/person who spends lots of time with her (she is very social and likes company most times) and considers dogs part of the family, has experience with rotties. Ideal new home would have fenced yard and no aggressive or dominant dogs (not sure about cats but don't think it would be ideal). (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-01-22-00484Winston (male)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Winston is a smart, loving and playful dog. He enjoys being part of the family unit and is also very loyal and protective of his family. Because of this, Winston would do best in a home with no young children nor alot of people he does not know coming in and out of the home all the time. Winston knows his basic commands, walks well on a leash and is housebroken. He will ring a bell hanging on a door to let you know when he wants to go out. Winston will need to be on a chicken free diet due to allergies. He weighs 62 about pounds and is 11 months old. Please help Winston find the loving home he deserves. If you are interested in ... Rescue Me ID: 17-04-24-00453Persephone (female)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This poor girl has had a rough start in life. She was taken in by animal control after they investigated complaints by neighbors that she was being left tied up outside with no food or water. Because of this, she has shown a tendency to protect her food which is understandable given the situation she came from. We are working with her to try and help her understand that from now on she will always have plenty of food on a regular basis. She will need an understanding owner willing to help her continue with her training and it would be best if she were the only dog in the house. Persephone is otherwise a wonderful dog with a very sweet ... (Read More)demeanor. This gorgeous Rotti mix is about 5 years old and weighs 90 pounds. PIease Read Before Adopting a Rottweiler in New Jersey
Rottweiler Dogs can make good pets in New Jersey if they match your IifestyIe. The Rottweiler is a large breed herding and guard dog. Rottweilers are very stable and brave. This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning. Rottweilers can be good family pets that are trustworthy with children and other pets if they are trained and socialized from an early age. If a Rottweiler is not treated properly it can become aggressive. Rottweilers need plenty of exercise and can run in open country without a leash. Rottweilers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard if they get enough exercise.
