He is a good dog but he needs a home where he can be the only dog and the children are older. Our children are young and he gets to ruff. (not aggressive) We also have a female and he doesn't like it when she is given attention, he will play with her as long as we don't pet her.

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-03-00190Winnie (female)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Winnie was adopted from a local shelter four months ago as a companion for our retired police dog. It has come to our notice that she needs someone at home during the day to allow her to roam a house. When she is left alone, she chews furniture. She escapes all types of confinement while I am away at work. She broke through heavy metal kennels. I only work 6 hour shifts, but the separation worries her despite having our shepherd sit with her. She really is a great companion, and that is why i am using this site to find her a good home. My only alternative is to return her to the kill shelter, and I absolutely hate that idea!

Rescue Me ID: 14-12-23-00137Harley (female)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Harley is a 3 year old Rottweiler mix. She is about 90+lbs. Mom was a pure bred American Rottweiler, and dad was stranger in the night. She is spayed, up to date on shots, but is due for Rabies. She has a wonderful personality. She loves people, and other dogs. However, being such a large dog she does play rough and doesn't understand when something smaller than her does not want to play. This is why I say she is only 'ok' with smaller dogs and cats. Not that she would hurt them. She is great with men and women. She's great at meeting new people. She is NOT crate trained. She will tear apart the crate door as soon as you leave to get ... (Read More)out.(Tear apart means pulling the door open. she physically bends the door) She is good with older kids, and I only say older because she has so much energy she may knock down or jump on a smaller child. Once taught to settle down she would be perfect. She loves children. She is a great 'guard dog'; she is literally all bark and no bite. She is protective of her yard; however, if anyone truly jumped the fence, they would only receive lots of kisses! She is very stubborn, and VERY smart. She is an escape artist. She does dig, and can pull chain link gates and fences up at the bottom to get out. She also pulls the gate hard enough the latch bends. - She DOES NOT climb or jump fences. When she does get out she does not go far, stays in the neighborhood or front yard. She is very high energy. And the times we have had her in the house all she does is run around. She does know how to sit. But that's it. If you give her a bone she settles down. She would rather be inside with people but with 4 cats it's a bit risky. Even if I grab her collar she drags me. (She's very strong!) She wouldn't hurt them. Just wants to play. When she does come inside she runs up to sniff them. If they run she chases. But has never bit or hurt them. If they stand their ground she leaves them alone. All interaction she has had with cats has been supervised. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU CAN GIVE HER A FOREVER HOME. She deserves it. Re-homing fee to ensure she goes to someone who will love her 575-318-7921 Call or Text Julie (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Rottweiler in Oklahoma
Rottweiler Dogs can make good pets in Oklahoma if they match your IifestyIe. The Rottweiler is a large breed herding and guard dog. Rottweilers are very stable and brave. This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning. Rottweilers can be good family pets that are trustworthy with children and other pets if they are trained and socialized from an early age. If a Rottweiler is not treated properly it can become aggressive. Rottweilers need plenty of exercise and can run in open country without a leash. Rottweilers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard if they get enough exercise.
