Rescue Me ID: 15-01-31-00508Diamond (female)
Meet Diamond! Look at this Diamond in the Ruf! This 87lb, all natural beauty is looking for her forever home! Diamond is a purebred Rottweiler with her tail intact. She is very sweet and could not wait to meet all of the volunteers at the shelter! Diamond is very smart and loves to work for cookies! She will sit and lay down nicely for a treat and at just 2 years old she is sure to learn many other new tricks. Diamond will need to be the only dog and she doesn't appreciate the feline kind much but she sure does love her toys! She originally came from a home with children, and in true Rottweiler form can be very protective of them. Since she is such a big girl and very strong, we feel that she would do best in a home with older children. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for disease along with microchipped and current with vaccinations. Adoptions are held every Saturday from 10am-3pm at our shelter (1049 Macarthur Road in Whitehall across the street from the old Lehigh Valley Dairy) For more information please email us (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-25-00307Brodie (female)
Brodie came to Blue Chip a year or so ago after she was abandoned and left for dead. She was recently returned as she suffers separation anxiety, go figure! She was also recently diagnosed as deaf. Now, the good news! She knows some sign language, loves the snow and to run. She is a quick learner, very playful and good on the leash. She is very loving and would make a great companion dog. We feel she would thrive in a home where she had company and was not alone all day. With proper introduction, she may do well with another dog.

2 year old neutered male mastiff/rottweiler mix. He does very well with my 7 year old son, but he can be aggressive around other children when he brings friends home. I think he would do better in an adult only home.

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-11-00230Gemma (female)
Gemma is 4 years old. She is a great dog! We had her since she was a puppy. We found out she has diabetes 2 years ago. She has to eat certain food 3 times a day & take insulin 2 times a day. I am not working now & only one income is in my household & it's hard to afford her $1,000 a month. It breaks my heart to have to let her go. We would love to have a family that can afford her & give her love. She thinks she's a lap dog she loves to cuddle. & she is well house broken.

Rescue Me ID: 14-12-08-00711Maya (female)
Maya is the most loving girl ever. Our family consists of my husband and I and our two year old son. We just recently got rid of our other dog- which was Maya's best friend. She is very good with all kids adults and dogs. I have never seen her around a cat so I am not sure about them. We bought Maya froma. Breeder and have had her since she was a puppy. She weighs about 75 pounds. She gets around just fine-- but cannot jump and doesn't seem to put too much weight on her back legs. I am sure this will eventually become a larger problem. But for now we have some medicine to keep her comfortable only when needed after playing and running around a lot. She is a great companion. We do not have time to give her the attention she needs. I would love to find someone with the time and patience for Maya. She truly deserves a great loving family. (Less)

I am re-posting this, as my original ad was removed due to 'emails not being answered' i have a busy work schedule, so please be patient with me in getting back to you. I will as soon as i can. The restaurant industry is tough this time of year. Chop is a great dog! Very loveable and goofy. Typical rottie through and through. He is very energetic as all puppies are. Unfortunately we have a baby on the way, and Chop doesnt know he is big (if that makes sense ) between a new baby on the way and my new promotion at work, i dont have enough time for him. He needs a great home with a family who is home more, and able to spend more time with him. He needs a home wjere he will be the only dog. He is up to date on vaccinations and licensed in altoona til january. (Less)

As much as I hate to be doing this I am looking to re-home my 7 year old female Rottie. She is a very loving and energetic dog who has been raised with my children and other dogs, I have to add she does not like cats at all for some reason never has!!! I am not sure if it is small animals of any kind or just cats. She did ok with the male Rottie however he was here when we got her as a puppy so she grew up with him. I know she would be wonderful as an only pet but am not 100% sure how she would be with smaller animals.. Due to recent events I have to get rid of her but only willing to do so to a loving home with room for her to run, play and exercise. She is an inside dogs and sleeps in a crate at night with no problems at all, she has been fixed which did make her put on some weight and she is very well house trained. Knows basic commands, come, sit, stay and so on... She has been part of our family since she was 8.5 weeks old.. It breaks my heart to let her go however if there is someone that can give them a better life with more room to run and play than I can I am willing to do that for her.. She is a wonderful dogs/friend/companion and deserves as much. (Less)

Animal ID: 14-02-13-00525Brandy (female)
Brandy is 13 years old and homeless. She would absolutely love a home of her own for however long she has left, whether through fostering or adoption. Brandy was a shelter favorite... a cuddler and a snuggler. She has likewise been an easy guest in the private boarding kennel where she is staying. Brandy had a chance at a foster home, but for some reason did not like the resident dog. We are thinking she may be dog selective so a dog meet is necessary. She may do best as an only dog so she can soak up all the attention she so enjoys receiving. If you can be this girl's angel, contact for an application is Beth

PIease Read Before Adopting a Rottweiler in Pennsylvania
Rottweiler Dogs can make good pets in Pennsylvania if they match your IifestyIe. The Rottweiler is a large breed herding and guard dog. Rottweilers are very stable and brave. This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning. Rottweilers can be good family pets that are trustworthy with children and other pets if they are trained and socialized from an early age. If a Rottweiler is not treated properly it can become aggressive. Rottweilers need plenty of exercise and can run in open country without a leash. Rottweilers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard if they get enough exercise.
