Rescue Me ID: 15-08-30-00251Greta (female)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hello, my name is Brittany. I just want to clear up why I have to rehome my wonderful dog, Greta... I'm in a position where I can no longer keep her due to losing the place I am currently living and having to move back to Kentucky. We currently have three dogs including her and I am expecting my first child in 7 weeks. We have been in the process of buying a house for the last month and a week before our closing date the sellers decided they didn't want to sell anymore and broke the contract leaving me $4,400.00 in the hole because they won't pay anything back. Now we're behind on bills and our landlord is giving us a month to find ... (Read More)somewhere else to go.....unfortunately no one will rent to us with three dogs and even if they would, we don't have the money for pet fees and deposits as it is...so we are forced to move back to Kentucky to live with family so we can start over. I've tried finding every loop hole I could to keep her but even our family members are saying three dogs is too many. Greta is an exceptional dog, I love her with all my heart and she is amazing with kids (she grew up around an autistic little girl ) and she doesn't have a mean bone in her body, not to mention she is SO smart. She knows sit, stay, down, bang bang, shake, and she does well off leash. She is wonderful with other dogs and is a total social butterfly. She is athletic and loves water and baths. She truly is one of a kind. We just had her spayed last week to help make finding a home easier. I absolutely hate doing this, I've worked in rescue and I've worked with dogs for the past 8 years so I know how it can be. I just want to find her a wonderful home where she will be loved and appreciated, or if a no-kill rescue group or fosters have room in their facilities, homes, or hearts to take her in... Whomever takes her - I would be more than happy to donate a bag of dog food that she has been eating. Also, I don't want an adoption fee personally. The adoption fee would go to a rescue. I'm just afraid if I require nothing for the adoption fee than someone will get her and she will end up in bad hands or being flipped on craigslist. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-08-17-00734Millie (female)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Girls just want to have fun' is Millie's outlook on life. Having come from a shelter in Georgia, she was extremely thin, sad & abandoned. Millie is so happy to get a second chance at life she just soaks up everything you give her: love, instruction, attention & play! She is enjoying a puppyhood she never had & is a little rambunctious but we're working on that. She can be mouthy when she gets excited, just like a pup although she is approximately 1 to 2 years old, but she can be redirected by giving her a toy or 'no bite' command. She is learning manners, some obedience & how to behave like a lady. Millie loves to go for walks & walks well ... (Read More)on leash. She does well with dogs, small or large, & cats and, in typical Rottweiler fashion, just wants to play. She'd love an active home with dogs who like to have fun, too. Millie is house trained & kennel trained, just give her a Kong stuffed with yummy peanut butter & she'll go right into her kennel. She would prefer to sleep in your room so she can do her 'job' which is protecting you from any scary moths that might invade your sleep. She has shown no inclination to be on the furniture but she might be coaxed. Since Millie is a tall Rottie, I would suggest that any children in the household be over 10 years old as she could easily knock down a small child by just turning around. Are you Millie's forever play mate? She will shower you with love & kisses (when asked) and FUN! She's so adoring & lovable, all she wants is a soft bed, kind words & love. And, of course, the toys she has picked out for herself: a frisbee, squeaky ball & an old slipper. (Less)

Animal ID: D150286Toby (male)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Toby has met lots of people in his 4 years, and he loves them all! Now he needs YOU to love him back. Adopted as a puppy from another rescue four years ago, Toby was welcomed into a family where he was given free-roam in the home, loved and spoiled. Unfortunately, Toby's family moved and couldn't take him with them'|so he is looking for his 'furever' home. Toby is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots and heartworm prevention. As a bonus, Toby is obedience trained; he knows sit, down, shake hands, fetch, come; and is housetrained and crate trained. He got along great with the pets (cats and dogs) in his previous extended family. ... (Read More)Currently boarding in an indoor/outdoor kennel, Toby wags his stubby tail and smiles to show you his beautiful spotted tongue; and he's well-behaved at the vet's office. He enjoys a walk and lets you know the best direction to take. He also loads right into a car crate or back seat and rides quietly and calmly wherever you want to take him. Pawing at the door when he wants to come in from the exercise yard, this sweet boy will lie on the lobby floor and monitor the activities of the people present; or he will head right to his run, turn around and sit on his raised kennel bed to wait for his food bowl. Separated from the companions he has known all his life, Toby now seems to prefer that his new family dote solely on him. If you are looking for a big boy to be your 'one and only,' please ask us about Toby! At 86 pounds, he's a little 'fluffy'; but that just gives you more to hug and love. This dog is located and fostered in Tennessee. Minimum Adoption Donation $150 in TN, $200 plus transportation fee for out of state adoptions. If you are interested in this pet but have questions that are not answered here, please fill out our Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. The first step to adopting is to complete our online Adoption Application: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-app/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide, so distance is not a problem in most areas. We have a variety of transportation options to bring your new family member to you. Typical transport cost to the northeast is $150, but may be less depending on your location (Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA residents.) A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Adoption donations vary and are subject to change without notice. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for feline leukemia and FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-06-14-00465Rotterick (male)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis

Rotterick (Rottie) is estimated to be about 7 years old and weighs close to 70 pounds. He is a Rottweiler mix with a beautiful, red, full-face mask and a docked tail. Rottie is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, heart worm negative and on a preventative. We have recently determined that he has a touch of arthritis in his hips and an anti-inflamatory is making him comfortable. Although he was in a home with two other, smaller dogs, before his owner surrendered all of them to the local pound, he is not yet friendly to the dogs in his foster home, who are younger and more energetic. We think he may do better with older, calmer dogs but would ... (Read More)still require time to get to know them or he may need to be an only dog. He is house trained, crate trained, leash trained and loves to go for walks. He is friendly with people but, because of his age and size, we will not place him in a home with young children. Our adoption fee is $125 and we do have an application process to insure that the adoption is a good fit for you and for him. Please let us know if you would like to meet this handsome lad! (Less)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

Hi! My name is Sammie, and I am looking for my forever home! I had a bit of a rough start as someone dumped me and six other dogs on the side of a highway. Can you believe that? We didn't know what we did wrong and were running along the highway. But, on Easter morning this really nice lady saw us and saved us! We were tired, hungry, and scared, so when she called us to her we followed her right into her backyard! Her dog diabetic Facebook group raised funds for her to care for us adorable puppies. She then called SSRR, and we were taken into rescue. Thank goodness!! It was a joint effort getting us all to safety, and I am so thankful. It ... (Read More)was no fun being on the streets. The woman who saved us spent lots of time holding and playing with me, so I am very used to human contact. I am told I am always on the go and that I'm kind of a watch dog, too. I love to play with my friends, both human and dog friends alike! I am learning my manners and continue to work on potty training. I learn really fast! I will still need more training, as I am just a pup after all. Please adopt me, I will love you forever! Here is a video of me playing with my sisters. Look how cute I am!! (Less)

I was found on the streets near starvation. I was only 40.2 lbs when I was taking in by this wonderful rescuer. She took me to the vet right away to get blood tests for Heartworms and other Parasites. God watched over me and gave me everything Negative. But I had so many Fleas on me, so they gave me the pill what killed them right away. Was I happy because Miss Chi Chi gave me a wonderful warm Oatmeal bath ( my coat was horrible). After that I was so happy to ... (Read More)get a mouthwatering meal with Beef and Veggies. Every day She gave me such very good homemade food. I started to gain weight and my fur became awesome again. Now I weigh 102.8 lbs. Have all my shots and got neutered. I've had some wonderful people donate toward my recovery and Vet bill I do have one small problem, when I was found I 've had 2 full blowing ear infection and the result is that I'm partial DEAF. But I've learned some sign and hand language and know now how to sit, stay, come, lay down and keep watching for my leash walk how NOT to go left and right. I got a second chance in life and all thanks to Miss Chi Chi who is so patient with me and teach me all this wonderful things and that there are still awesome people out there who love us. So now, I'm looking for a family with maybe 1 female dog ( I love Female dogs, not so Males) who has a fenced in backyard and the same patient than Miss Chi Chi has. A family who maybe knows some sign and hand language ( is not a must because Miss Chi Chi will teach you). Oh did I mention that I do NOT like cats or other small pet ( Guinea Pigs, hamsters). If you are this awesome family and would like to add me to yours, here I'm. Everyone says, that I'm, a sweetheart of dog. My adoption fee is $250.00 and potential Adopter will be screened and monitored. You also have to sign an adoption agreement, because Miss Chi Chi do NOT want me back in the situation I were in I thank you all in advance. Please Spay/Neuter your Animals. (Less)
