Rescue Me ID: 16-05-11-00046Beau (male)
This dog was saved from Death Row and treated for Heartworm. He looks to be a Beauceron Mix, and needs his own yard to run around in. He cannot be left alone indoors and likes constant companionship. He was listed in the shelter as a Rottie Mix, but his long un-boxed forehead and longer nose make him look like he possibly can be full-out Beaceron. We might be willing to work with other rescue groups, long as they can be investigated in full. We want the best for this boy, as he was the product of abuse and surrender. He is a very sweet animal that needs forever kindness and to never be abandoned again! To me, he is a diamond in the rough! 5.5 years old. (Less)

Very energetic and playful puppy. Doesn't get enough attention or training to suit her. Would make a great single guard dog and family dog if given firm training. Does well on a leash and knows several commands. Just wasn't started early enough and she wants a job.

Animal ID: SSRR16-0202-010Eloise (female)
Meet Eloise, or Ellie as she is called by her foster parents. She is a 3 year old, 65lb beauty. She was found as a stray and is currently in a foster home with 2 other fur-siblings; a male rottweiler and a male rat terrier. She gets along with both her foster brothers but has shown some interest in smaller dogs. Ellie has been cat tested and has been curious about them but did not display any negative behavior. Ellie is a high energy girl and would love to have a companion to take her out on long walks, hikes, a run or to the dog park. She would also benefit from a doggie sibling that is her size that she can run and play with. Ellie would do best in a home with older children (8 and up) only due to her high energy and exuberance. Ellie is crate-trained and house-trained. She is currently working on learning basic commands and doing better every day. She is a smart girl and is eager to please. If you feel that Ellie is the dog for you please fill out an Adoption application and bring your new furbaby home. (Less)

Hi all my name is Highway. I am a 3 year old Rottweiler mix. I weigh about 80 pounds and I am full grown. I bet you are wondering how I got the name Highway aren't you? My owner dumped me on the side of a deserted highway with my bag of belongings. It was freezing rain and I sat there all day waiting for them to come back. This nice man had seen me that morning on his way to work and when he saw me still sitting there on his way home he stopped to check on me. I was so cold and my fur was starting to freeze. I just couldn't wait any more so I jumped in his truck and off to his house we went. Man did I get lucky because the man that found me is a foster and well here I am safe and looking for a new family. My foster mom and dad adore me but the want to save more dogs just like me so I need you. I am a great dog! I am house broken, I do not need a crate, I am the perfect energy level and I love other dogs, cats and I will protect your children from all harm. I love children, they like to play and always give me treats. Did I mention how much I love treats? Are your feet cold? if so I will snuggle them for you if you want me to. I love to snuggle and get lots of belly rubs. Did I mention how much I love treats? I also love going for car rides. See I am perfect so please visit www.soardoggyrescue.org to fill out an application for me. Love, Highway (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-11-03-00239Molly (female)
Are you looking for a loyal and true best friend, never too busy to cuddle? Meet Molly; a 6 yr. old female Rottweiler Mix who was abandoned at an animal shelter near Winston Salem, NC. Molly had been severely neglected; in addition to being sick with various illnesses, she was emaciated and heartworm positive. Molly's time was up that day. Her condition and appearance made her unadoptable, and the shelter was out of room; sadly, she found herself first on 'The List.' Molly was only hours from being euthanized when SSRR rescued her. Life has changed for this very sweet, loving girl. Molly loves being taken care of by her Foster Dad. He plays fetch with her, and she gets lots of love and attention. Her favorite position is cuddling while they watch ball games together... and she never talks during the kickoff or important plays!! Molly just loves hanging out with her human! Molly is a survivor! She has been treated for heartworms, spayed, and is now healthy and ready for her forever home and family. She is house-trained and crate trained, and walks well on a leash. Molly has been through so much at the hands of those she had trusted to take care of her; yet, she is very friendly to everyone and loves to give kisses. Despite her past, Molly still loves people and wants her very own family. This sweetheart will melt your heart the moment you meet her. If you want unconditional love, this little lady is your match. Molly does well with children and male dogs (when introduced slowly); no cats. A fenced yard is a requirement; no underground fencing. (Less)

Where's Wally? Here I am!! Hey everyone I am a 1 1/2 year old Lab/Rottweiler Mix. Just look at this stunning black and white coat I have. Isn't it the dreamiest? Besides being uber good looking, I am also UTD on all my shots, mircochipped and neutered. I get along well with other dogs too! I am currently in foster care and I love all my foster brothers and sisters. I am housetrained and crate trained and great on a leash. I am ready to shake a tail out of here and find my forever home. Can't wait to meet you! My adoption fee $200. Please apply to foster or adopt by visiting our website www.RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org An application and home visit are required. Once your application is received, we will call you and answer any questions you have. All animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccines prior to adoption. Our adoption fees not only help the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heartworm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need to be made available for adoption. Out of state adoptions are possible, and transport is provided at no additional cost to the adopter. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-06-14-00465Rotterick (male)
Rotterick (Rottie) is estimated to be about 7 years old and weighs close to 70 pounds. He is a Rottweiler mix with a beautiful, red, full-face mask and a docked tail. Rottie is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, heart worm negative and on a preventative. We have recently determined that he has a touch of arthritis in his hips and an anti-inflamatory is making him comfortable. Although he was in a home with two other, smaller dogs, before his owner surrendered all of them to the local pound, he is not yet friendly to the dogs in his foster home, who are younger and more energetic. We think he may do better with older, calmer dogs but would still require time to get to know them or he may need to be an only dog. He is house trained, crate trained, leash trained and loves to go for walks. He is friendly with people but, because of his age and size, we will not place him in a home with young children. Our adoption fee is $150.00 and we do have an application process to insure that the adoption is a good fit for you and for him. Please let us know if you would like to meet this handsome lad! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-05-31-00079Sammie (male)
Hi! My name is Sammie, and I am looking for my forever home! I had a bit of a rough start as someone dumped me and six other dogs on the side of a highway. Can you believe that? We didn't know what we did wrong and were running along the highway. But, on Easter morning earlier this year, a really nice lady saw us and saved us! We were tired, hungry, and scared, so when she called us to her we followed her right into her backyard! She then called SSRR, and we were taken into rescue. Thank goodness!! It was a joint effort getting us all to safety, and I am so thankful. It was no fun being on the streets. I am told I am always on the go and that I'm kind of a watch dog, too. Here is what my foster mom has to say about me: Sammie is nearly a year old now & still awaits her wonderful family. She's come a long way from being found on the side of the road as a wee pup and has had some trust issues. The great big world can be a little scary, but Sammie is on her way to becoming a loving, trusting, happy dog. She is still a little shy of meeting new people, but if they have a yummy treat, she decides they're O-K! She loves to go for walks, but we need more work on walking properly on leash, she tends to wander here & there. She is learning that car rides aren't scary & likes to go places now. It would help if Sammie had a buddy to help her learn the big wide world is safe. She loves to play & having a play mate will allow her to run out all her energy as well. She's still a puppy at nearly 50# but should not get much bigger. Sam has learned some manners: she sits & makes eye contact for her meals & treats. She still likes to jump but is learning to sit for petting. Sammie's a great cuddler, too, although she can be a bit of a bed hog with her long legs everywhere. She gets along with dogs, large & small, and cats, although they're still a curiosity to her & she really just wants to mouth them. A 'leave it' command usually works & she'll leave them alone. Sammie's a smart girl and learns quickly. She's still unsure of children but is okay around them; Sammie needs quiet, gentle reassurance so children should be calm around her. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Rottweiler in Tennessee
Rottweiler Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The Rottweiler is a large breed herding and guard dog. Rottweilers are very stable and brave. This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning. Rottweilers can be good family pets that are trustworthy with children and other pets if they are trained and socialized from an early age. If a Rottweiler is not treated properly it can become aggressive. Rottweilers need plenty of exercise and can run in open country without a leash. Rottweilers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard if they get enough exercise.
