Rottweiler    Age: Puppy

So far what we know is Diva LOVES to run, chase, and be chased. She does NOT get along with all dogs and needs obedience classes to teach her proper manners and socialization. We have started this process and expect a potential adopter to continue on with her education so she can mature into a well adjusted adult. She is approximately 1 yr old. (Picture coming soon)

Unless it is the 'right' other dog, Chloe should be the only dog. She can be bossy which can cause some problems if she does not have a clear leader to guide her. Absolutely no cats and probably no other small animals for prey drive is in full bloom. Will update as more information becomes available.

Gorgeous pure-bred rottweiler - whopping 130 pounds. Bear is absolutely sweet and precious. He gets along well with cats AND dogs. A little curious about cats and tries to play, but nothing at all to worry about. He cuddles like a baby. He knows tricks like 'sit, wait, shake, lay down, BANG,' and more. He's been around kids 3+ age, but we haven't seen him around babies or toddlers. He listens very well when treats are involved. He's a wonderful guard dog and has hilarious quirks like howling LOUDLY at all police or fire sirens. He is possessive around toys and bones, but not around food at all. He has never, even attempted to bite, but he ... (Read More)growls. It's clear he doesn't want you to grab them away. We typically wait until he's uninterested, and we've stopped giving them to him. His story - a couple owned him. A blind man, his wife, and their young daughter. The couple divorced, and the blind man got Bear. He didn't feel like he could take care of Bear in his condition, so he re-homed him. My husband and I have been fostering him for my brother and his girlfriend for 3 months, while they are on assignment in Colorado. They decided they cannot keep him, so now we have him. Bear is an AMAZING dog, but my husband and I are gone 9 hours out of the day, if not more. We try to accommodate to him, but our jobs have to come first. He has chewed a tiny bit in our absence (not blaming the dog, he needs more attention than he's getting). But overall, he's a true joy to have around. He is very vocal. He wasn't trained very well when he was younger, so he doesn't have submissive behavior. For example, if you try to pull on his collar to bring him outside, he will growl. Nothing scary. But he communicates well what he wants and doesn't want. I need him to go to someone that has time to be around him, will only use POSITIVE reinforcement (treats, positive body language, no hitting/screaming), and has a yard. He's mostly indoors, but he is huge. We would keep him if we had the time. (Less)

Hi I'm Adonis! I'm a 1-year-old Rottweiler mix that weighs about 40-lbs. I'm good with other dogs and my favorite thing to do is play. I'm a VERY sweet and loving boy - I love all people! I'm definitely an easy-going pup and would be great in either an active home where we could go for runs or in a mellow home where we could just watch TV and take naps. I'm a very smart boy - I'm completely potty-trained (so no accidents for me!), plus I'm not destructive so I'll never tear any of your things up! So please let me know if you're looking for an easy-going forever friend to give you unconditional love!

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

A friend rescued Otis when he was a small puppy. They gave him to my son who kept him on the farm. He was wonderful with the horses and cattle and got along well with visiting dogs. He was lonely so my son gave him to us. We had him neutered and vaccinated and sent his DNA to Embarkvet.com. That is how we learned he is 51% Great Pyrenees, 33% Rottweiler and smaller parts German Shepherd and Weimaraner. We also learned that against all odds he doesn't have the genetic markers for any of the diseases commonly found in these breeds. It predicted he would live until age 17!! I have never had such a loving dog and he loves everyone who ... (Read More)comes to our home. He isn't as active as i would have guessed when looking at those breeds but we do have a big yard and every once in a while he runs and jumps and runs in circles and plays. He really loves to play with other dogs. He is very attached to me and very, very loving. He isn't very interested in food and for a while I had to supplement his dry food with meat but he is adjusted to it now and his weight is very good. He weighs 75 lbs so he isn't as large as most Great Pyrenees or even Rottweilers. He wants to be petted and loved on for a few minutes before he will eat his food. I have to give him away for 2 reasons. His size and strength are really hard for me and he has become possessive of me when my standard poodle is around. He doesn't bite him but he begins to play so rough with him it is dangerous for my poodle. He can only go to a home where he will be allowed inside and get lots of love and affection. If you research Great Pyrenees, he has the same personality. He is very sensitive to my feelings and tone of voice. He coat is very easy to keep. It never gets matted or tangled and he likes to be brushed. We hired a trainer for him and she worked with him for 3 months. He knows lots of commands and learns quickly. He is a grand prize of a dog and I am very sorry to give him up but I know I need to. (Less)

Female Rottweiler at the Austin Animal Center. She was found abandoned at a gas station 6 days ago near the Bastrop/Travis County line. Lost and Found Pets Austin Facebook page was notified and a woman rescued her from the heat and brought her to the shelter. She was hungry and thirsty but vey docile and rode in the car well. She appears to have had a litter but not that recently. The intake person at the shelter thought she was probably being used as a breeder dog. This dog is very sweet.

Bruno is a sweet, loving, loyal dog who is wonderful with my two young children (5 & 8 years old), all ocelot friends, and two other dogs (lab mix and min-pin mix). He is not the alpha dog in the house, the lab is. We used to have a cat, who he was interested in, but never hurt. He can be protective, but is also scared of thunder and vacuum cleaners. So why does such a wonderful dog need a new home? There have been a couple of incidents in my neighborhood where another dog has been slightly aggressive and Bruno has ''put them in their place'.     I'm Sylvester (3 I was only 5 months old when Arlington, TX AC picked me up as a stray on May 15, 2017. Man, it was hot out in the TX sun all by myself. I couldn't find anything to eat or drink and my fur was leaving me too :( I itched so bad!!!! THEN, I went to the shelter and got some food and water, thank goodness ! :) THEN, I heard them say my time was up I had to be euthanized on May 25, 2017 because it seemed no one wanted a Rottie puppy like me that wasn't beautiful and looked sick and skinny :( THEN, the nice lady came into my cage, put a leash on me, and walked me out! Animal ID: SSRR17-0428-029Rocky (male)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Heartworm Positive

Rocky is a 3-5 year old Rottweiler mix. While he is quite handsome, he's also super-cute with a puppy-like face, expressive eyes, and adorable floppy ears. He is approx 44 pounds and we are working on him gaining a bit more. His size and build makes him easy to handle and allows him to still move around like a puppy. Rocky is bright and will look at you when you talk to him to figure out what you want him to do. He is easy-going, incredibly sweet, smart, and playful. We don't think he was an indoor dog and nor do we think he received a lot of affection. Considering this plus the fact that he barely escaped from being euthanized before SSRR ... (Read More)took him in, he is adapting to his new environment incredibly well. He is learning that besides giving food, people can give him affection and he's figured out how to ask for the belly rubs/ chest scratches to continue. We are also currently working on housebreaking him plus getting use to car rides. He was a helper at the shelter by meeting new dogs to see if they were dog-friendly. He had no issues integrating with my current 3 dogs who are easy going (2 males & 1 female). He likes to ask them to play with him and respects their space. He does not display any dominant nor aggressive behavior. There are dogs nearby that tend to bark a lot and while he listens, he doesn't bark back. He is entirely too interested in squirrels and we have no idea what he is like around cats. We initially gave him treats separately but are now giving him treats along with the rest of the crew. He gently takes treats/food from our hand and also knows how to eat off of a spoon. He greets visitors in a friendly manner and checks to see if they have treats. Rocky would do well with other playful dogs or on a one-to-one basis, provided his parent(s) are active or semi-active. He needs someone that will spend time with him & is willing to continue any training needed. He wants to learn things and be a part of a family. While he isn't high-energy, he does need exercise & ways to keep his mind active, such as a treat ball or a chew toy. He does enjoy his down time and will happily nap and sometimes ever so slightly snore away. As the days goes by, he continues to blossom and needs a loving home where he can continue to learn things and experience just how awesome life can be. He is UTD on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped. He is in the preparation of his heartworm treatment but don't let that stop you from wanting to adopt him. He is very endearing and worth the wait. If interested, please contact us for more information. Rocky is heart worm positive and will need to go through treatment before becoming available for adoption. (Less)

Rottweiler    Age: Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Hi there! My name is Jerri, and I am a sweet, fun-loving 80-pound female purebred Rottweiler (no papers) who was born in January 2010. I'm 'beautiful, healthy, strong, and still very active,' says my human. I have lived most of my life indoors, so I am a great TV/ sofa companion. Although I am not crate-trained, I'm thoroughly housebroken and not destructive when my human is not home. I do enjoy the outdoors where I can play with my soccer ball and toys or just run around. Although I have never been around cats or small children, I love dogs; I adore treats even more but don't like to share them! (Now who could blame me?) My Good ... (Read More)Samaritan rescuer found me on the street in June 2010 as an abandoned, stray 6-month-old puppy with gauze around my paws and stitches from being spayed. It's been a wonderful life with my rescuer up until now. Unfortunately my beloved human has developed some debilitating health issues and can no longer physically care for me. Regretfully, she is trying to find me a wonderful new lifetime family to cherish me as much as she has. Could yours be that family? Jerri is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm tested. Her adoption fee is $150, check or cash payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Jerri, and we can arrange for you to meet her. To make the process more efficient, download the adoption application at http://www.bustersfriends.org/dogadoptionapplication.shtml. First save and then open it; then you can print it and fill it out. Note: Jerri is posted as a courtesy to an independent rescuer or owner in hopes that networking through Buster's Friends' website postings will find a wonderful lifetime home for her. Buster's Friends is committed to reducing the number of animals who are surrendered to shelters and to assuring that fewer animals face the possibility of euthanasia. Courtesy postings for the community is one way that we can achieve this by providing a platform in which animals like Jerri remain safe while still being widely seen until she is placed in a permanent home. Disclaimer: Jerri has never been in the care of Buster's Friends. We can therefore not evaluate her behavior or medical status and not be liable for any damages or injury which she may cause. If Jerri needs to be returned, she will go back to the home of her independent rescuer or owner. (Less)

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

Posted 4/14/17, and pictures taken 3/31/17. Cameron was one of five dogs at the Smith County, TX Shelter on 3/28/17 that needed to leave that day. Another rescue was going to take him, but could not take another heartworm positive dog, so I tagged him, since one of my senior dogs passed away. He has joined my yard dogs, and follows me everywhere. He does not like being in a crate or riding in a vehicle, but I'm working with him on those and he is getting much better with both. He looks like a teddy bear in the face. He has a slight dominant personality, but is very trainable, since he is eager to please his person. He has barked at our ... (Read More)cats, so I would not recommend him with cats, and he is good with children and adults. He was put on Doxycycline and Prednisone for a month, which he started on 4/10/17. He can stay on prevention now or have heartworm treatment. Ivomec can be used twice a month for about 6 months to kill the heartworms, and I have a page of instructions on how to use the Ivomec. Cameron was picked up on Hwy 135 on 1/21/17 weighing 34 pounds, and estimated to be 2 years old. He now weighs 53.6 pounds. $80 adoption fee.     Smart and loving. Fully trained. She was attacked by a dog a few years ago and since then she is having problems getting along with other dogs. I am pregnant and we have a 3 dog house hold. She gets along wonderfully with my 12 year old male chihuahua, not so much with the 4 year old female Shiba Inu. She needs someone who can devote time exercising her and knows how to handle dogs. Preferably someone who would not mind keeping in though with me in some way. She is my baby. And giving her up is the hardest thing I have ever had to do.

Bridget is an awesome little girl. At 5 months old, she is still a puppy. As with most puppies, Bridget loves to play but is pretty gentle. She does get excited as most puppies do, but calms down quickly and easily. Bridget currently lives in her foster home with an 8 year old human brother and an 11 yr old human sister. They play with her daily. With consistent training and socialization, Bridget will grow to be a wonderful family companion. But, she will need someone who can commit to and follow through on both. **PLEASE NOTE: Young puppies are always lovable, but they require a lot of attention, effort, exercise, good nutrition, ...     Say hello to Memphis! Memphis is approximately 4 years old and such a goofy dog! He is absolutely obsessed with his Kong toys and can entertain himself for hours if you let him! Memphis is the brother to Angel (also adopted through our rescue) and was surrendered by a retired military gentleman that could no longer care for them. He is such a sweet boy and really loves humans! He does well on a leash and loves playing with ALL other dogs! He also does well with cats and children! Memphis is both house and crate trained, quiet, fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and heartworm negative so he is 100% ready to join a loving family! Our ... (Read More)adoption process begins with you meeting Memphis. Feel free to schedule a play date with him and your existing dog(s). After you fill out an application, we will verify your references and do a brief home inspection. If all goes well, we will deliver Memphis to you for a small adoption fee. You will also have the option to purchase a large wire kennel for an additional fee. We then ask that you sign our adoption contract. We will do a follow-up visit approximately two weeks to one month after the adoption to ensure that Memphis is adjusting well to his new home and that he is happy and healthy. She is gaining wait and realizing that she will be fed everyday. Her street instincts are slowly fading away. Bambi gets along well with other dogs, cats and even pigs! PIease Read Before Adopting a Rottweiler in Texas
Rottweiler Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Rottweiler is a large breed herding and guard dog. Rottweilers are very stable and brave. This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning. Rottweilers can be good family pets that are trustworthy with children and other pets if they are trained and socialized from an early age. If a Rottweiler is not treated properly it can become aggressive. Rottweilers need plenty of exercise and can run in open country without a leash. Rottweilers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard if they get enough exercise.
