Animal ID: 16476 Foster HomeBear (male)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Bear - 16476 - The name really suits him since he looks like a fluffy bear cub. He appears to be around four months old, and came into the shelter with his Rottie mom and petite sister who we fostered and has been adopted. Bear is a big boy, but very gentle, social and loving. He is confident, quiet (he's only barked once, as my husband rolled the big recycle bin up the driveway), curious, and playful, though he tires out pretty quickly. He slept in a crate in our room without any whining, loves getting his belly rubbed and playing with dog toys, and he walks surprisingly well on a leash (no pulling, but leans into your leg as cars go ... (Read More)by). He is at a perfect age to start training and is learning quickly. He learned sit his first day, and now that it is day 2, we are working on come, down and stay. Given his current size, he will probably grow up to be a large dog. He is a sweet and smart boy, and with a little puppy training and patience, Bear will be an awesome fur-ever pet! If you are looking for a great dog, make plans to meet Bear today. This cute (or should I say handsome) fur-ball is sure to be adopted quickly!     Rue is a healthy, cute, cuddly, and playful puppy almost 8 weeks old. She is the smallest female from a large litter of puppies. Rue is a very beautiful and affectionate puppy. She has all the classic Rottie markings just like her mother who is a full Rottie. Her dad is a Rottweiler/Border Collie mix. Both parents are loyal pets with great temperaments. Her mother (who lives on site) loves people (including children) and other animals. Rue has had her tail docked, dew claws removed, dewormed, first round of shots, and checked by vet. She is ready to be adopted into a loving home!

Rottweiler    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sammie is a gorgeous Rottweiler who has been in a loving home for eight years. However, with the recent birth of our twins, we realize that she is not a great fit for babies. She is a big Rottweiler who would do well in a home where she is the only pet. She is very loving and affectionate. I don't want to let her go, but with the right fit, I think it would be better for her.

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-19-00121Riggins (male)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi, there! My name's Riggins and I may be the sweetest puppy you'll ever meet! I was found covered in fleas and in the middle of oncoming traffic. Thanks to K-9 Angels Rescue, I've been given a second chance at life. I am a pretty big puppy, weighing 20 lbs already! My foster mom says I'm going to be a big boy when I grow up. I haven't been with my foster parents for long, but here's what they already know about me: 1). I love to snuggle and be pet. If you let me, I will sit next to you all day long and wait to be loved on. I get along great with my foster siblings and am always trying to play with them...but they're not that interested in ... (Read More)playing with me because they are grumpy. 2). I am very calm for a puppy and don't mind being picked up and carried around. I just rest my head on you chest or shoulder. I also love to play with toys when I am in my playpen or crate. 3). I haven't had any accidents in the house. I whine a little to signal that I need to go outside to do my business. 4). I am a smart boy and learn very quickly. I respond well to correction when I am doing something I am not supposed to. 5). I am learning to love my crate. I would much rather be out and about, but am quickly learning my manners. I may cry for a bit but settle down after a while. My foster parents say that I am probably going to be adopted really quickly, so hurry and fill out an application for me. I can't wait to find my forever home! PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/adoption_process_k-9_angels_rescue.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. Thank you! Rescue Me ID: 16-04-23-00180Vinny (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Arthritis

My name is Vinny, I'm male, neutered, and live in my foster home with another girl Rottie and a cat. I love people and like to greet everyone. I don't live with any little children now, but my first owner had three. Right now I weigh about 78 lbs and need to put on just a few more after my HW treatment. I'm doing really well on my house training and will come ask to go outside. I like my crate just fine and spend the night there and don't mind going into it during the day if I'm asked. I'm learning commands and although I haven't been walked on a leash much, I don't pull. I don't like moving cars and will quickly get away when one is ... (Read More)moving near me. I got hit in 2013 and I remember! Even so, I do love to go for a ride! You have to help me in and out because I have limited range of motion in my hind left leg from the accident. If you're active, and want a dog who is too, I'm probably not the Rottie for you. I like big plush toys, I don't tear them up, but I like to bite them all over and make them squeak. I am not selfish and haven't guarded my food or my toys. I do like to drink the cat's water instead of my own...it just tastes better I think. I'm messy when I drink and sometimes I have a little drool, but not much. I apologize ahead of time for that little problem. (Less)

Animal ID: SSRR16-0225-023Beyla (female)

Rottweiler    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

Meet Beautiful Beyla Bear! Beyla was raised by a loving person since she was 12 weeks old. Her owner recently died and trusted an SSRR volunteer with finding his beloved girl a great family. She is a 5-year-old, pure-blooded German beauty who loves to play, go for walks and give tons of kisses. She will walk away from food to get a belly rub or any type of loving. Of course she thinks laps are for snuggling on%BD'%BD|even if they are smaller than she is. Beyla is confused as to why she's left the only house and safety she has ever known. Due to her owner's illness, Beyla has spent a lot of time alone, which makes her love attention ... (Read More)from every human she meets. Sweet Beyla is slowly working to join her foster family dog pack, but she's not sure of some social skills due to her isolation. Thankfully SSRR and her foster family found an awesome trainer who works on teaching dogs and humans how to interact in a way that requires the dogs to be praised for good behavior, never punished, and maintains leadership through patience and practice. The training goal is to give each dog confidence. Specifically, the trainer activates the brain of these working dog breeds so that their job is to remain calm and relaxed while relinquishing control to humans. Approved applicants will get to meet with Beyla's trainer and learn his techniques so that a transition into a new home will be consistent with what she has been taught and what has been reinforced in her foster home environment. Beyla loves to chase anything that moves, including leaves, making her not a good match for cats or small dogs. She is house and crate trained and eagerly listens to all commands. Beyla is microchipped, spayed, up-to-date on all vaccines; she has been well cared for as evident in all her vet records. Only applicants in the Houston, TX, and surrounding areas will be considered for Miss Beyla. (Less)

Dasiy is a Prue breed Rottweiler with German Bloodline, i bought her from a well known Rott only breeder. She is a great dog not aggressive towards friends, family or neighbors. She has severe anxiety when left alone and chews blankets and other items. She digs holes and has chewed on the fence as well. She needs to be with a family that someone is able to be with her or take her along. She loves car rides and hiking, long walks. Angus loves everything and everyone - men, women, children, dogs, cats, squirrels, inanimate objects - if you cross his path, you're going to get kisses; he is an equal opportunity slobberer. He knows all basic commands and walks perfect on a leash. He's a big dog, somewhere around 110 lbs, but very, very gentle. He loves to play tug games and ball. Angus is a big hit wherever he goes, making sure all get his attention, he keeps track and doesn't miss anyone. Angus would probably be a good dog to visit nursing homes or children's hospitals. He does have arthritis in his back and some hip issues, but doesn't let that get him down. He likes riding in the car and can get in and out on his own providing it's not that high. He can also get on and off the couch and a fairly low bed. He does not do stairs. He enjoys cuddling on the couch with his human and short walks around the neighborhood. Angus was heart worm positive, but has already been treated. He also had double entropion surgery to correct his eye problems. (Less)

This is Dakota, she is about 6 years old. She LOVES to play ball. She will play ball for hours and run all day. She was picked up as a stray at shelter and came to us about 6-8 weeks ago. Since then we have started working with her on a leash, which she will need additional training. She is in beautiful physical condition, she has a large square head. Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Destiny is a 3 years old princess in the making and is looking for her knight in shining armor to rub her belly or play fetch with all day. She is always eager to go on her daily walk and will sit nicely before heading out the door. Hanging out with her four-legged friends is fine too as long as they are of the canine species who will let her be in charge of the castle. Now, Destiny may be the princess, but she needs a queen and/or king to provide calm confident leadership so she doesn't steal the throne. She does however have a tomboy side to her that doesn't mind getting wet or dirty. As a matter of fact, her new favorite thing is playing ... (Read More)in the water hose or splashing in the doggy pool. Destiny considers felines foes, not friends, so needs a home without kitties please. Her owner was surrendering her to a shelter that immediately euthanize owner-surrendered animals. It was her good fortune that we were there at the very moment she walked in; therefore, her name is fitting. She is a good-natured female that has fit right into the routine at her foster mom's house. Destiny enjoys playing with other Rottweilers and will protect your yard from squirrels and cats. She has a calm demeanor and especially enjoys being with people. She was underweight when she first came to us so she's very food-motivated. She is current on all vaccinations, chipped and has an adoption fee of $300.00 (center)(a href='https://www.petfinder.com/pet-search?shelter_id=TX1463&status=A&animal=Dog') Garcia Rottie Rescue (/a)(/center) (Less)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Puppy

Look out!...Here comes 45 lbs of pure energy! Rebel (which means 'wild spirit but a loving heart') was rescued from a kill shelter on her last day, and she is making the most of getting to live!! She is one happy girl who is very inquisitive and loves to run and play. Rebel is approximately 8-9 months old and is very much a 'people' dog. She is very sweet and affectionate and loves being by your side. This pretty little Texas gal has gorgeous, intense eyes and looks directly into your eyes%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD|as if she is trying to communicate with you. Rebel's adopter must be active%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD|.she has to be ... (Read More)walked daily (jogging even better) and get lots of playtime. She is not hyper, but she is a typical puppy--exercise is a must! Rebel arrived as a wild child, pretty much untamed. She didn't appear to have much socialization with people or dogs. Like any youngster, canine or human, if never taught anything they don't know what is expected of them. Rebel has made huge progress; she is housebroken, crate trained and is learning commands. She is very smart and will continue to learn whatever she is taught. She did not know how to act around other dogs%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD|she will show aggression but more as a 'fear' reaction. Therefore, she must be slowly introduced to new dogs. Rebel has now become best pals with her foster brother (85 lb Rottweiler). Rebel has been spayed, had eye surgery for entropion in both eyes, and is up to date on all vaccines. If you're looking for a loyal companion and a true buddy to hang out with, this little beauty is your girl. (Less)

But now that he knows he is going to be taken care of and fed, he doesn't have to do those things any more. Maxwell loves to be loved on and will try to get in your lap and put his face as close as he can get to you, once he learns that he can trust you. It's truly amazing that Wolf has turned out to be such a great dog after what he has endured. His owner ran over his front (left) leg, breaking all bones in his foot and lower leg, and never took him to a veterinarian; instead, he was allowed to suffer in what ... (Read More)must have been horrific pain for several weeks. The bones had fused in the wrong positions and he had to drag his useless foot/leg when he walked, resulting in calluses and open wounds. Finally, when the owner realized Wolf's condition was not going to improve, he was dumped at a kill shelter. Wolf's sweet nature impressed the shelter staff and volunteers and they reached out to try to get him saved. SSRR took Wolf into rescue and immediately sought vet care; unfortunately his leg was too damaged to be saved and had to be amputated. Wolf has made a great recovery. He lives in a foster home with four other Rottweilers and LOVES to run and play. He is always happy and everyone who meets him falls in love with him. It is our hope that Wolf will be adopted by someone who could have him trained to become an animal assisted therapy dog, going to nursing homes and hospitals (especially hospitals for children as well as veterans); and/or, serving as a companion for a veteran. Wolf would definitely brighten anyone's day! Wolf is missing a leg, but he does not consider himself handicapped and neither should you.If you are looking for a truly special companion, this awesome guy exemplifies the statement 'Who Rescued Who?'     Rosie was adopted 2 years ago, and recently found wandering the streets. Rosie is a beautiful mostly Rottweiler mix - now around 3 or 4 years old and weighing just over 60 pounds. Rosie is very sweet, gentle and loving. She will sit and let you love on her all day long. Rosie has not been treated very well, so she gets scared sometimes - this is nothing that a loving and stable home cannot fix. PIease Read Before Adopting a Rottweiler in Texas
Rottweiler Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Rottweiler is a large breed herding and guard dog. Rottweilers are very stable and brave. This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning. Rottweilers can be good family pets that are trustworthy with children and other pets if they are trained and socialized from an early age. If a Rottweiler is not treated properly it can become aggressive. Rottweilers need plenty of exercise and can run in open country without a leash. Rottweilers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard if they get enough exercise.
