Animal ID: 91849Thor (male)
This superb, regal, and handsome fella is Thor. Thor is gentle and loving and likes to roll on his back for belly rubs! Thor is waiting patiently for a family to love. Thor likes to play fetch and will always bring you back the ball; and likes to play tug of war. Thor does well walking on leash, and would love to take strolls with you. If Thor looks like the right dog for you then bring in the family to meet him today! Make sure to bring in any dog friends or kiddos with whom he may be living with and meet Thor today!

My name is Aldo, I am a purebred Rottweiler, with an appetite for food and love. Most of the time I am a big teddy bear, but my medicine has made me aggressive towards other dogs. I have some health issues and am medication to control it. I need someone experienced with Rottweilers to help me.

Rescue Me ID: 16-12-20-00488Lando (male)
**UPDATED 3/26** Attractive and fun but high-strung 'tri-color' (bits of white on paws and chest) mixed breed dog, ~70 pounds, needs home free of small kids by May. He bit a child in December, after which he started medication that has improved his mood. He is NOT generally aggressive or destructive (but does have a 'resource guarding' instinct and is a bit moody). So, he needs an owner without small kids who is experienced with difficult dogs or is patient and willing to learn. He's great at ball, Frisbee, hiking, swimming, camping, etc. He loves to greet guests, but he's a good guard dog. We love him, but have too many kids around to keep him after the bite incident. And we don't want to put him down! We'd be happy to dogsit regularly and help in transition (if your location is reasonably convenient to Bellingham) or when you are off on dog-free vacations. So, this dog might be good for you if you occasionally travel or need to not have a dog when you have kid visitors but otherwise would like a companion. He's good on the trail and at the dog park. He usually gets along with other dogs but has not lived with any (we are happy to discuss details about likely matches, but he's not likely to get along well with other large dominant dogs--or at least it would take slow integration). He has lived with and gotten along with cats, but he'd need a bit of refresher training on that! If you wish, he might be trained for hunting, agility, or some other 'job,' as he's pretty smart and eager to learn. If you may be able to help Lando by offering him a new home, please contact us. |Animal ID: 16-08-29-00602Bullet (male)|
Bullet is a great dog. He was my mom and dads and then my dad passed away. My mom needs to find a new home for him. Since my parents were in their 70s when they got him he didn't receive the proper training. When he has something that he knows he is not suppose to he will not allow you to take it unless you have a treat for him or he will snap at you. My husband is trying to work with him and he doing a lot better about dropping what he shouldn't have. He needs a firm male in his life. He loves to play tug a war. We would take him but we also have a male dominant dog, which is a German Shepard. We would love to give him a good home. Thank you

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-07-00368PHOENIX (male)
Phoenix is a magnificent challenge for the confident and well balanced rottie handler who enjoys the consistency of strong, positive leadership and has experience with the rehabilitation process. Phoenix has made great progress and had a few set backs but he has become an experienced pack walker, has a best friend who is another young male rottie, so he has the potential to grow, and learn by example to be a well balanced dog. Of course he is cute as all heck, but will need that special person who has the skill set to continue with his training.

Shelby loves life! She is a happy female rottie mix who adores being appreciated. She loves spending time outdoors in the sun. Her favorite activity is playing fetch. Shelby walks well on a leash and is eager to show you how many commands she knows. She would do well in a relaxed, loving environment with another easy going dog.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Rottweiler in Washington
Rottweiler Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. The Rottweiler is a large breed herding and guard dog. Rottweilers are very stable and brave. This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning. Rottweilers can be good family pets that are trustworthy with children and other pets if they are trained and socialized from an early age. If a Rottweiler is not treated properly it can become aggressive. Rottweilers need plenty of exercise and can run in open country without a leash. Rottweilers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard if they get enough exercise.
