Rescue Me ID: 16-01-10-00511Apollo (male)

Rottweiler    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Female Dogs Only, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Apollo is a very sweet, handsome boy 1.5yr old Rotti with a tail! He needs some training and could use an obedience class. He loves to be in the center of what's ever happening. This kid has lots of spunk and loves to run and play. Apollo has some bad manners, don't we all. He likes to jump on people but his foster is mom working hard to correct that. Apollo is also learning that he doesn't have to be possessive of his bone, there is enough for everyone. He's been neutered and that should help his energy to slow down. He appears to likes like women more than men, but has had no trouble with either. He's being fostered with 2 other dog but ... (Read More)are both female. Foster mom is not sure about another male dog? He's currently being fostered on a farm and he's interested in the chickens, horses and cat but I believe in time and correction this will not be a problem. Mr Apollo totally needs to learn right from wrong and will require a strong owner with big breed experience. Once again, obedience classes will be a necessity. He's coming along with house breaking. Apollo is a really smart kid and when comfortable can be a handful but not in a bad way, just needs to be taught boundaries. There is a totally soft side to him though and he will cuddle next to you on the couch. He doesn't want anyone to know, but he also loves his belly scratched. Give this handsome man some time and he'll make a wonderful new family member for the right person. Apollo is being fostered in Mauston, WI. His adoption fee is $150 and covers his neuter, all age appropriate shots, health certificate and microchip. Please apply at (DATCP 403260 DS). (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-12-21-00546Mattie (female)

Rottweiler    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Mattie is a female Rottweiler, up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed. Approximately 3 years old (as of Dec. 2015). Mattie's story is a sad one ~ she was discarded, not once, but twice by the humans she trusted. Mattie is microchipped and we traced her back to her first owner, who said she was giving away to another party. This second party decided they no longer wanted Mattie so they opened their gates and let her free and chose not to reclaim her. She's now safe with us here at GGOH but she needs a place to call 'HOME'. Mattie, by no fault of her own, was not socialized very well or trained so she is in need of a person committed to ... (Read More)helping her. By going to some general obedience classes, helping her get socialized with other dogs and just giving her the patience and understanding she deserves you will see what a truly remarkable personality Mattie really has. She does require some handling experience as she is a strong gal but we can tell you this, this is one beautiful dog with a very loving spirit. Are you a Rottie fan? Could you be the one to give this sweet gal a new, loving home to call her own? Please take the time to come in and meet this sweetheart - we'll just bet you will see the potential we see in her, too. BEFORE CONTACTING US REGARDING ADOPTING MATTIE, PLEASE REVIEW OUR ADOPTION POLICIES AND PROCEDURES. THANK YOU!! (Less)

This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning. Rottweilers can be good family pets that are trustworthy with children and other pets if they are trained and socialized from an early age. If a Rottweiler is not treated properly it can become aggressive. Rottweilers need plenty of exercise and can run in open country without a leash. Rottweilers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard if they get enough exercise.
