Rescue Me ID: 15-04-10-00623April (female)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

April is a female Lab/Rottweiler mix; approximately 3 1/2 years as of April 2015. Intake date: Sept. 2012. April and her brother Sarge were taken in at Gregory's after they were abandoned by their owner out in the country. Upon trying to make their way back to the city, a kind community member contacted GGOH for assistance for these two who had taken up residency at the bottom of her driveway. The reason we knew they were 'dumpee's' is the owner had been to GGOH on the Friday before they were found, inquiring about surrendering them. April's pads were ripped from running and both were hungry, thirsty and tired. We really have no idea ... (Read More)how far they had run back. We immediately took both to the vet, got them on the road to being healthy, happy dogs and have since been providing their care; Sarge found his new home in November of 2014 but April still awaits hers. April is just plain WONDERFUL; could you be her SPECIAL SOMEBODY? Please visit our website (www.ggohinc.com) for further information on our Fencing and Indoor Living policies as well as information regarding our adoption process. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Rottweiler in Wisconsin
Rottweiler Dogs can make good pets in Wisconsin if they match your IifestyIe. The Rottweiler is a large breed herding and guard dog. Rottweilers are very stable and brave. This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning. Rottweilers can be good family pets that are trustworthy with children and other pets if they are trained and socialized from an early age. If a Rottweiler is not treated properly it can become aggressive. Rottweilers need plenty of exercise and can run in open country without a leash. Rottweilers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard if they get enough exercise.
