|Rescue Me ID: 14-09-03-00272Leo (male)|
Leo is a boxer/rottie mix came to the shelter at 8 weeks old got adopted, then surrendered again when he was 2.5 by some people that bought him off craigslist. (Found out it was him by microchip) Was def abused by a man. Scared of hats and men. Takes a long time to warm up to men. He's good with other dogs but will fight back if they attack. Good with cats and kids. LOVES to swim. He has a torn acl but it is getting better on it's own. He has never bit anyone. He can sit, shake, lay down, roll over and knows drop it and bring me the ball. Very girly bark and needs lots of exercise. He loves to swim!! Leo would Love a Busy Family that would enjoy taking him with them!! He is crate trained and has been living in a home for the past 5 months. If you feel that you can give a great home to Leo please contact us for an adoption application (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 14-08-06-00505Elsa (female)|
High energy, loving, but dominant, especially of my wife since she (wife) developed health issues. Elsa has issues with wanting to be alpha female, and has bitten/nipped my wife on several occasions, none of which required medical treatment. She is an awesome dog, a great physical example of the breed, and fairly well trained (sit/stay/come). I think if my wife had not developed physical disability and was able to be a consistent alpha, Elsa would not be having these issues. She is pretty good but excitable around visitors, and will herd small children. She loves to go for runs, heels pretty ok but is a puller, and is HIGHLY food motivated. Will bark at strangers thru window or when she needs out or feels supper is late, is very vocal during play or petting, but not a huge barker most of the time. Will not allow her nails to be clipped tho. (Less)

Rottweiler Dogs can make good pets in Iowa if they match your IifestyIe. The Rottweiler is a large breed herding and guard dog. Rottweilers are very stable and brave. This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning. Rottweilers can be good family pets that are trustworthy with children and other pets if they are trained and socialized from an early age. If a Rottweiler is not treated properly it can become aggressive. Rottweilers need plenty of exercise and can run in open country without a leash. Rottweilers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard if they get enough exercise.
