Rescue Me ID: 16-09-01-00007Captain Jack Sparrow (male)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Jack is a rottadorspaniel (1/2 rottweiler, 1/4 lab, 1/4 cockerspaniel). He looks like a purebred lab but acts like a purebred rottweiler, and is fiercely protective. We moved houses and it's a worse environment for him, as there are lots of new noises and many more dogs that he can hear but can't see. He escaped and bit a person, and he's a strong dog, so we need to find him a home that suits his rottweiler nature better. He needs an owner with as much energy as him, that can give him lots of exercise, discipline and just as much affection.

Rottweiler Dogs can make good pets in New Zealand if they match your IifestyIe. The Rottweiler is a large breed herding and guard dog. Rottweilers are very stable and brave. This breed needs a firm, experienced handler from the very beginning. Rottweilers can be good family pets that are trustworthy with children and other pets if they are trained and socialized from an early age. If a Rottweiler is not treated properly it can become aggressive. Rottweilers need plenty of exercise and can run in open country without a leash. Rottweilers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard if they get enough exercise.
