     I called up the lady offering the dog and asked is she still had him she said yes and then asked if I could pick him up that day. This was a Sunday and an hour's drive for me and my husband one way. But to tell the truth, it was well worth it. I fell head over heels in love with him at first sight. We're going to keep calling him and Zeus. He was okay seeing me for the first time, but he kinda had second thoughts about my husband at first. Within a few minutes, we were hugging and petting and loving him as if he was ours forever. The drive home gave us such a delight as he would sit in the back of our truck and climb into the front seat into my husband's lap even though he's almost five years old and a big dog. My husband did not mind. When we got home, we put our other two dogs outside to let him come in and get acquainted with the house, then we open the back door and they all met each other and run around as if they had grown up together. No fighting, no nothing- it was doggy Heaven from first go. Thank you Rescue me for letting these people have him for us to adopt. Sincerely Sheila and Shawn

     Recue Me is a great site. I had five inquiries within an hour of posting and they were experienced Rottie owners. The family that adopted him called me personally and we talked for a good 20 minutes. He and his wife travelled three hours to meet Caesar and instantly fell in love with him. I called later that evening and the joy of the new owner's voice was heartfelt. He shares that Caesar is loved and by everyone and settling in great. They promise to keep me updated with pictures and periodic calls. It was hard to let him go, but happy to know he will be well loved.

     I lost my Rott in late spring and missed his presence so much I decided I needed to find a new friend, but I also new that there were many dogs out there that needed a friend also and chose to adopt. I found Max after only a couple of months searching his owners had moved into the city and he was being boarded at her friends who themselves had a very busy life and just did not have the time to give Max the attention he required. I adopted Max after being on your site only three hours and five days later I had him home Max and I hit it off right off the bat. He now has a huge yard to play in and his own little house, but would rather spend his time where ever I am at we walk and play and wrestle like we were old friends and we couldn't be happier.�%A0 Thank you, Rescue Me!

     We had the sweetest little Rottweiler girl, but after a divorce and a nasty accident, we were unable to give her the time and attention she deserves, especially once school started and the kids were in after school sports and activities. I tried looking for a home for her with friends, my church family, and even through Facebook, but with no luck. When a good neighbor suggested posting on Rescue Me, I figured we could give it a try. By the next morning, I was contacted by an interested family, and continued to get emails and calls throughout the week. Today, she went home with her new family, including their eight month old Rottie/Shepherd mix. She and their pup hit it off away, and were curled next to each other as they drove away. We just wanted Coco to have a good home with a loving family, and thanks to Rescue Me we found her the perfect forever home!

     Thank you, Rescue Me! My foster mom, Cristina Bates was great, I had two siblings to play with. My new mommy came all the to Centerville to pick me up. I showed her love immediately. I now have a younger brother, Hoss and an older sister, Lady. Lady has already put me in my place. I think I will be very happy here. I found the doggie door right away and my mommy was very happy. Although I just got here, she gave all of us baths..... It wasn't too bad. My sister went first, then me and then my brother. We have lots of FOOD!!! Mommy has a big feeder and a HUGE water bowl. I found the pool (ha, ha). I'm older than my brother, but he's bigger. Every time I go to check out the house, my brother follows me to make sure I don't get in trouble. I think I will be happy here. Mommy doesn't believe in chains and the yard is big for running around. I've already been out with my siblings chasing the birds. Thank you Ms Bates for taking me out of a bad situation, and thanks for finding my new mommy.

     After a very badly broken foot and ankle bones, I could no longer care for my big, beautiful Rottweiler.      This is the second Rottweiler we have adopted from Rescue Me. Both experiences were fantastic. Two years ago, we got a girl Rottie who was a lot of work (we knew it and accepted it since we have had Rotties for years). For this adoption, we wanted to get a Rottie who was going to be fairly sociable and gentle with our formerly wild girl Rottie. We got a dream dog in Roko. We got him from Brent Badder, a trainer located in San Luis Obispo who gets rescued dogs and trains them so they are extremely well behaved and responsive. He is an absolutely fantastic trainer, you can watch his videos on YouTube, which I did and that was what led me to contact him for Roko. His videos were superb. We also have a Chihuahua and it was imperative to get another dog that was nice to him. Roko's behavior with smaller dogs being trained was really sweet in one of the videos. I feel we hit the Rottweiler lottery with Roko. We have never had a better trained Rottweiler, with a very easy going and sweet temperament. Roko sits, downs, stays, plays ball and is very responsive. He was even responsive without a leash (by accident) in our driveway the day after we got him. He's an amazing dog. Beautiful, gentle with our Rottie girl (who really should have gotten on his nerves, but he persevered with patience and they are best buddies now, jumping and playing together). Roko takes food from my hands gently. He walks on a leash without pulling me. I just love working with him and his company. He is very low key when he isn't working or playing, very mellow personality. Thank you Rescue Me for helping me find Roko and thank you Brent Badder for training him so well. He's perfect!

     I have an eight year old Rottweiler male named Max that is a fantastic dog. He was a rescue from our local shelter. Since we were in the market for another dog and because I have always owned Rottweilers, we decided to get another one. Because Max is a male, we decided to get a female. We found Sassy on Rescue Me and contacted the posting information. We met with them and Sassy the next day. She is exactly what I was looking for, a sweet loving dog, six years old and fitting in well. Can't say enough about sites like this that give good dogs a chance for loving caring homes.

I was super unsure of how to process would go and figured this was going to be impossible, not because for weeks we had tried finding Zeus a rescue to take him. They refused because of his age saying nobody would want to adopt an older Rottweiler. Then, I was contacted by a gentleman who was truly interested and sounded like he really wanted to adopt our Zeus. It probably was the perfect match because he had just had a Rottweiler around the same age and was looking to find another pet. He came and met Zeus and they bonded really quickly. Without this site, we would have been connected with this man. He probably is the perfect family that Zeus could have gone to and I am confident that he will love Zeus and take great care of him. This site made it possible for our dog to find a loving home.

     I needed to move and we couldn't take our beautiful Nala, Rottie/Shepard. She had been alone in our old place (maintenance men allowed us to keep her there till we found her a new home or as long as they could) we'd feed her in the morning and the kids would walk her after school. It was the most depressing thing, till I met Marty a God sent angel who helped me get through it and the wonder couple Mellissa and Miguel, who I couldn't have asked for a more wonder family for our loving Nala!      When Jethro was found, he had been abused very badly. He was starving, had fleas, cuts and was heartworm positive. I adopted him and he has cleaned up to be a beautiful boy. It's amazing what love and attention can do. My big boy weighs 130 pounds now. He has been fixed, his coat is all shiny and we are going to the vet to talk about heartworm treatment. I want to thank Rescue Me for my big ole love bug.

     Things are going very well! Nasir enjoyed the car ride home, and I will bring him with me whenever possible. At home, we spent an hour touring my smaller home, sniffing every cranny. I have a sliding glass door in my bedroom which captured his attention, and where I let him out for his business and to be fed. My first new 'trick', which I learned from Cesar Milan (The Dog Whisperer) was to prevent his charging back inside by capturing him in my arms and waiting for him to relax. As soon as I felt his tension subside, I unclipped him, and by the third time, he no longer did this behavior. He taps on the glass when he is ready to come inside. He responds favorably to all the physical affection he demands. The benefit from all this petting was to remove all the dust and undercoat to the point that he just shines. I brushed him out, which he also enjoyed and because of this, I doubt he will ever need bathing, which is something I never did with my former dogs. He follows me everywhere, and comes on command. As for obedience, he does pretty well with 'Lie Down' and will learn the rest of the repertoire in time; I am in no hurry. We had a nice long walk at sundown, he frequently marked our boundaries and was very polite on lead. He was not hungry in the evening, which might be expected. We had a quiet evening, and he fell asleep on a pile of my dirty laundry, which I allowed to accustom him to my scent. I awoke in the morning to find us nose - to - nose; he awoke some time later to some playful cuddling. I am pleased to report he has a very 'soft mouth' which I tested by putting my fingers in his mouth and tugging on his jaw. This is a VERY good sign. We had a morning walk in the drizzle and he met my neighbor's goats; they were cautious, but he was inquisitive, another good sign. I fixed him a fried egg with his kibble and he made up for his empty belly, and I found him to be a very well-behaved eater, as if he enjoyed it, which I'm sure he did. He is sleeping now, and as the adage goes, this pleases me. Thanks to the former owners and Rescue Me!

     Dodger was able to find a good home with a lot of land to run on through Rescue Me. He is going to stay in touch with me and send pictures, so I am very happy about that. It breaks my heart to let him go as I have wanted a Rott since I was a kid. I had him for five and a half months and had to say goodbye. I hope he is happy at his new home and will forgive me for having to say goodbye. He was my buddy and I was definitely his person.

     Miley, my lovely 20 month old German bred Rottweiler female, found a loving couple who has adopted her into their home. Miley is a loving dog but was too rough on our existing farm cats and other female dogs... Even though she had grown up with them since eight weeks of age. I exchanged information and photos about Miley and her new parents came from about five hours away to see her. Miley liked them immediately and they her. It was a great match because they are a slightly older couple and they have owned Rottweilers previously. They don't have any other animals, and Miley will be the full focus of their attention which she will love. Rescue Me is a wonderful site!

     My success story is that for many months I wanted to adopt another Rottie. We currently own a neutered male who is about five years old. My hubby said we had to have only a spade female about two years of age. So I began my searching using your site. Month after month, I would be very watchful. About two months ago, I responded to a post. After a followup call, I got a response then it took about a week to set up to visit Misha! We had a long drive and met the owner. It was a wonderful experience. She was such a delight! A happy, full of energy female... Just what we had been searching for. The previous owner asked us to donate the requested fee to Rescue Me, so we did. Misha is very happy, we're about to move to another house and have been really busy getting ready. Both dogs are going to love the new house and yard! It took some time to gain all the records and microchip data and were planning our first camping trip with them.      Thanks to Rescue Me, I was able to locate and adopt a sweet, three year old female, spayed, house trained and vaccinated Rottie. While her social skills are lacking, she's learning to walk nicely without attacking passing cars as well as calmly accept other dogs walking with their owners. Her hind legs are malformed and muscles atrophied beyond repair, however our calm, easy walks have shown improvement in her stride and endurance. She quickly learned to stay off the furniture. She is eager and happy to please us... The very Rottweiler trait we missed when we lost our last wonderful boy in 2001. I'm seriously thinking of adding another male if and when I find a calm, sweet accepting (other dogs, kids, people) boy in need of a great, forever home. Because I enjoy including my dogs in travel, visits to family and friends with dogs and public walks, a diplomatic disposition is vital. Thank you again for all your effort helping find forever homes for these wonderful babies.

     I was so fortunate to have had a rescue agree to find a home for my SJ, but at the same time I posted here since the rescue needed to lock down a foster, logistics, etc. I had a wonderful inquiry and was able to do a home visit, meet the new family, and in general get a feel for the new forever home for my girl. What a blessing that she found a forever home instead of waiting to be fostered then find a home. Love the idea of Rescue Me and how helpful it is!

     I looked on Rescue Me and found the dog of my dreams. I sent a message to the contact person and she replied the very next day. We talk and text several times that day and the next. Two days later we met and I got my dog. I have a friend that is looking for a Rottweiler as well, and I recommended that they look at this site rather than to purchase from a breeder and give one of these dogs a second chance to have a great life with a loving family. I don't use credit or debit cards, but I will be sending a donation is the form of a money order. I really appreciate this site and the people that post to it and the ones that adopt from it. If I wasn't a truck driver and had a large area, I would adopt several.

     We purchased an amazing, beautiful Rottweiler as a pup only to find out a little more than a year later our autistic son was allergic. We tried posting her on Craigslist and instantly I was being judged for being an awful parent and dog owner. I then learned of your site and placed her for adoption. Within 24 hours, the emails started coming in. After sorting through we came across a wonderful woman by the name of Julie. Today, I spent five hours in my vehicle to bring our sweet girl to a farm where Julie awaited our arrival with her other fur babies and even horses. Instantly, there was a bond between Cookie (our Rottie) and Julie and her animals!!! I couldn't be happier with the decision we made for Cookie and our family as well.      My big ol' 120lb' baby bear', Nero, was adopted this past Saturday. Though it was a hard decision to let him go, he is now with a family who I believe will love and spoil him. I have received several updates from the new family; and they report that Nero has adjusted well to their three small children, to them (the adults) and to his new home. He is kept indoors; but has a big front and back yard; plus two 'playing fields' a pond and lots of other accommodations. He is almost five years old; so I was concerned that it would be difficult to find someone to adopt him. I am so grateful to the Rescue Me site for allowing me the opportunity to post his information. I received numerous inquires about him from those who viewed him on the site and was able to screen potential adopters to find the a family that I felt would be suitable for him. Also, the website was easy to navigate. Thank you so much for what you guys do for Rottweilers and other breeds. I really appreciate the love and caring shown to our four-legged family.

     I could not begin to tell you how happy we are with our new family member, Ruger. He is sweet, gentle and the most loving dog. He fits right into our family. We made great friends with the owner who is a loving sweet person. I will never have any other kind of dog other than a Rottweiler. They are the best dogs! I feel safe when my husband is out of town.      We are so thankful that Rambo got adopted by a very nice married couple. We all feel more relieved due to the fact we know they can take better care of him than what we can do.      We are pleased to say that Bear was re-homed after 18 months with a fabulous couple who have a Boxer too. They have contacted me a couple times since confirmed that he is very happy and very settled already. We are all very happy here at D4D. His brother Tytan was re-homed 12 weeks before Bear, and is happy too. Great news for both, but especially Bear as he really needed very confident people who now have him a forever home.

     Tobias was an owner surrender from the animal shelter. Upon our arrival at the vet and through a series of testing, we found he was heart worm positive, Lymes disease positive, and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever positive. He also has extreme hip dysplasia, was malnourished from fleas and ticks, and severely abused. Since then, a foster stepped in and saw to it that the vet's bills were paid after a huge donation. Two weeks later at a recheck at the vet, we found Tobias had gone from 77 pounds to 88 pounds. The vet discussed a blood transfusion and possibly having to euthanize Tobias. But, one month to the day, a blood test showed that four weeks of love and care provided by the foster home we found through Rescue Me had turned things around for Tobias. He was in the best home of his life. The foster is now a forever home! Tobias has now been neutered, and next week we begin heart worm treatment, and will get his shots. With the help of Rescue Me, Tobias finally has a place to call home! Thanks, Rescue Me!

     After many months of responses from people I believed wanted a Rottie for the wrong reasons, someone told me about Rescue Me. We had really begun to worry that we weren't going to find the right home for Nina. But fortunately, thanks to this resource, Nina went to her new home two weeks ago.
